Not opposed to having a different kicker, but am opposed to just dumping Buehler without giving him training camp and preseason to compete.

Plenty of kickers who went on to be very good were erratic or a little inconsistent at first. This guys had one year.

People would be crying even more if we dump him without giving him another shot and he turns into a good kicker elsewhere.

We've been patient enough? He's only had one year. Jeeze people.

He showed improvement throughout the season, now you want to cut him for a career 81 percent FG kicker who had 3 straight seasons of mid 70's percentage recently and just missed 2 "clutch" kicks in a playoff game?

Please.. Buehler will be here, and as long as he continues to improve i'd stick with him. He has more potential than anyone we could bring in.

Improvement? lol

He's too inconsistent. If and when he makes all of our extra points, and stops shanking field goals, let me know.

Improvement.. as in he improved his accuracy as the season went on.

Again, if you want to give up on a kid with this much potential after one year, you're ridiculous. All i have to do is say Adam Vinatieri to prove why giving up on Buehler this early is a mistake.

Im sure you'd be a guy who'd have given up on him too though..

Like I said in another post, I like Buehler, but if the inaccuracy continues he must go.

They might keep two kickers this year just in case, because we don't really know what to expect.

If he continues to be inaccuracte, i agree eventually he has to go. But in another post, you said we had been patient enough, indicating it was time for him to go already.. which i completely disagree with. You seem to be contradicting yourself in a couple different posts so i wasn't sure what you were trying to say.

As i said though, his accuracy got better as the season went on.. and if he continues to improve he could easily become the best kicker in this league. He has the leg to consistently hit 60 yard FG's with ease if he can improve his accuracy. His major problem, for whatever reason, seemed to be hitting FG's in the 30-40 yard range.

I know I did, but I have a right to change my mind whenever I want.

I'll support him, but the first time he misses an extra point or an easy 25-30 yarder, I want him gone.

Kris Brown or whoever will be able to handle the duties until we find another kicker in next years draft.

One other thing about Buehler, he hit 75% of his field goals. Extra points he's 95%, not bad but every kicker should hit an extra point unless it's blocked or it's a very bad snap.

You put a guy like Akers in there and he hits at least 84% of his field goals and 100% of his extra points. Take it for what it's worth.

Akers had 3 straight seasons recently of 78 percent or below FG percentage. He's also missed 6 extra points in his career. Missed 2 in 1 season twice already. He also just missed 2 clutch FG's in one playoff game and isn't getting any younger.

So no, its not automatic that he hits 84 percent of his FG's and all his XP's. Incorrect. Also, his career FG percentage is 81.9.

One of, if not the best kicker of the modern era Vinatieri, again, missed 3 XP's his rookie year and was 77 percent on FG's.

One thing you all can't discount, either, is that Beuhler is ridiculously good looking.

If he wasn't a kicker, he could be handsome for a living.
