I'll believe it when I see it.

But they bombed miserably in trading for Matt Cassell (and traded a good bit to get him) and appear to be doing the same thing again by trading for an equally mediocre guy who was benched by a well coached team thats made two championship runs.

Yep. Remember, Smith's injury only cost him one start, yet he still lost his job to a virtual unknown based on one good (not great) game. Hardly a ringing endorsement of Smith, who is serviceable at best.

I know a lot of people are poopooing this trade by the Chiefs, but I actually don't hate it.

I think they have a talented team overall, and can use the #1 pick on the best player available and not have the immediate future compromised by playing an unproven QB.

Wouldn't suprise me in the least if they're a wild card team next year.

I think it is a good trade for both teams. Clearly the Chiefs did not like the QBs in FA and the draft and giving up 2 picks for a QB you think could be a legit starter for 5 or more years is a trade I would make. He was having an excellent year.

Albert, Charles, bowe, moeaki, mccluster, berry, Derrick Johnson, Justin Houston, tamba Hali, Brandon flowers

Even dontari Poe and Jon Baldwin will get better with a full Training camp and improved positional coaches

Honestly rivals our core minus the qb spot

Yeah, I actually think the Chiefs have done a decent job of accumulating talent over the years. Pioli wasn't horrible. They just haven't had much for coaching or QBing.

I like the move. Kc would have been better without their QBs throwing INTs or fumbling to the tune of like 37 times.

Smith has shown to be a guy who can manage the game. Bus driver but sometimes that's not a bad thing.

Compensation-wise it's probably a bit steep but it beats the shit out of drafting some turd who has shown no ability to play at the NFL level yet.

SF is setting itself up to be a contender for many years. They make brilliant moves and always seem to come out on top of deals like this nowadays.

15 draft picks? They'll easily be able to get Revis or whoever else they want, and will still surely hit on a few of those picks.

Dallas is really falling way behind the curve here. In addition to having competant HCs, teams like Denver, SF, NE, and Balt also have FO people who know the fuck is going on.

We need a coach like Jimmy or Parcells who will turn JJ back into a figurehead GM.
