I wouldn't contact him either. Use the money on an offensive or defensive lineman.

What money?

If those cap figures are right, it looks like just about every other team in the league can out bid us easily for any free agent they want.

So how did that amazing front seven of Pittsburgh fare against Rodgers? His #2 WR was out and they still couldn't get to him. They couldn't keep Jennings out of the endzone and even with a handful of drops Nelson finished with 9 catches and 140 yards. If they had Asomugha to compliment that front seven it would have been a completely different game.

SBK can rant all he wants, but the front seven is only as good as the secondary in today's game. QBs are getting rid of the ball faster than ever and can beat the rush almost every time. Heck, Rex Ryan used a zone defense and dropped some of his key rushers into coverage to beat the Patriots. If you only build one of the two units you will fail.

You guys are like 2 boxers trading jabs but neither landing the knockout blow. Ideally, you want solid corners and a solid pass-rush. If you can't get that, you hope that at least one unit is solid. Look at us this year, neither were solid and we got shredded.

There are sacks, and then there are coverage sacks. Yes you can get away with an average secondary, but ours isn't. It's terrible although Jenkins has the potential to turn it around to take it back to solid.
