Its almost 50 days till the draft, those decisions have definitely not been made and probably not even thought about.
Diggs seems pretty washed to me and is coming off a major injury. I'd like to see us go the vet WR route but would rather see us go after someone better than Diggs.
Diggs played very well for the Texans. Sure, the injury is a concern, but Trevon has also been injured. So what I am saying there is that this is the NFL, players get hurt. Stephon's injury was an ACL. Before the injury, he had recorded 47 receptions for 496 yards. That happened in week 8. So, he was on course to have a 1000 or more yard season and nearly 100 catches or more.
Based on reports, he is expected to make a full recovery. True, he might not be ready for week 1,but that is another reason for a discount.
Stephon's injury isn't in the Overshown class. Overshown tore multiple ligaments in his right knee: the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).
So that is a spot that must be addressed. Overshown might say the right things, but the body is the body. If we can get Diggs at a discount, it frees up some cash. We should basically consider Overshown out for 2025, and possibly for good.
So anyway, McMillan at 12 would likely be cheaper than Diggs or anyone else, hence, taking him does make sense. They could take Hampton in round 2 or even wait longer.
I do think they have thought about it already. If they haven't, then someone needs to be fired. Well, Jerry might be thinking about the Red Cross, who knows.
CJ Stroud went on record saying he wants Diggs back. Usually, a QB will just shut up about it if the player is washed. He'd say something like, "that's above my paygrade, we'll see what happens", but Sroud said it without even being asked, if I recall correctly (could be wrong).
It would come down to how much.
