Anybody who's trying to put a positive spin on the Mingo deal just stop now please. We gave up a fourth for on his best day a fourth receiver. That's a freaking joke, no matter how you spin it. Typical...
Not a fan of what we gave up, but did like him a little coming out of Mississippi.

Carolina is one of the few places that's a bigger dumpster fire than Dallas. They have a dipshit owner, a lousy QB and lousy coaching, so maybe a change in scenery will do him well. But we gave up too much (as usual)

5 mins left. What magic can Jones and Spawn work for us.

My body is literally trembling with excitement. It will be hard to outdo that Mingo deal, but I know they are working it.

We took less for Cooper because it was a salary dump.
You're correct, but I still think we could have gotten better. He was approximately at least 2 years younger than he is now. Could we have dumped a little less and agreed to pay some of the salary in exchange for a higher pick?

Jerry gave up a 6th for Phillips. Had the Cowboys cut him before he played in two games, it would have been a 7th.

had he not played two games, they wouldnt have gotten anything I thought

the trade became "baked" when he did play the two games, and it was a 6th for Phillips + 7th swap

I think it became a 6th because Phillips met the playing time requirement. Otherwise, it was a 7th. That's what I remember anyway. I could be wrong.

The conditions of the trade for Jordan Phillips between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys were that Phillips had to be active in at least two games for the Cowboys in 2024:
  • Trade
The Giants sent their 2026 seventh-round pick to the Cowboys in exchange for their 2026 sixth-round pick and Phillips.
  • Activation
Phillips had to be active for two games in 2024 for the trade to become official.
  • Injury
Phillips was placed on injured reserve (IR) after injuring his wrist in a game, but the trade still went through.

The trade became official when Phillips played in the Cowboys' home loss to the New Orleans Saints.

So we gave up a 6th, but gained a 7th.

Well, in those late rounds one never knows. I suppose the difference between a 6 and a 7 isn't all that big of a deal. Still a Jerry screw up though.

LOL Well, if you like a player who in 19 career starts has yet to score a touchdown, than Mingo is your man! This season he has just 121 receiving yards, & was still fourth on the mediocre Panthers’ depth chart. He's averaged fewer than one yard per route run in each of his first two seasons.
Fabulous pick Jerry!

I would have been ok if we gave up a 6th or 7th for him. But a 4th for a 2nd round draft pick who can’t even crack the worst team in the NFL’s roster? He has been in the league for 2 seasons and hasn’t done shit!

What in the actual fuck are you thinking Jeruh?

There he goes trying to outsmart the rest of the league again!

I don't know if someone already posted this. This is from nfltraderumors.

ESPN’s Jane Slater spoke with another GM on Dallas’ trade for WR Jonathan Mingo: “Talented. A little raw. Comp is too much…like way too much. Basically a net 5th. Probably is most like Tolbert of the guys there. Just my opinion. Not a bad player but to include a 4th is rich.”

I wish I could get like 50k fans in the stadium to wear shirts that say "Jerry, Go Fire yourself".

Does anyone who lives in Dallas want to make a buck and start selling tee-shirts outside the stadium? Personally, I think it is brilliant. Sort of like Let's Go Brandon.
