It drives me insane. We gave up a 1st for Cooper, gave him away for a 6th, and the Browns traded him for a 4th with an additional few years on his body. From a Bills perspective, it also makes sense because the Bills are still a contender, so if they have to over pay, then so be it.
I like looking at contracts on spotrac. Mingo's contract looks good (relatively). He isn't a free agent until after 2026 and he isn't making an outrageous amount.
So my initial reaction is that this one doesn't puzzle me as much as the Trey Lance deal did. He gives the QB a larger catch radius than Cooks or Turpin. But, honestly, I have not watched him play at all. His stats don't seem impressive, but Carolina also has a lot of problems.
I look at his stats and Amari Cooper's stats and think that both players fetched a 4th, I don't know. Leave it to Jerry and his spawn. Cooper had nearly 1300 yards last year. Mingo had 418. Yes, the QB play is a factor. Yes, Mingo got hurt last year, but he played in 15 games.
IDK, I think I would have preferred to just give up on this season and play for a better draft pick. Although this one isn't leaving me scratching my head and bitching like the Trey Lance deal, I don't think I would have pulled the trigger.
The good news is Mingo is young and the lightbulb can still be turned on. Still would prefer to lose every game though. I'm not really into just having a winning season.
Ah, remember the days of Jimmy making trades and fleecing the NFL? Such fond memories.
Jerry's philosophy of never rebuilding hurts this team. To heck with a "soft rebuild." Pick up draft picks, not give them away. Target 2027! We have no friggin plan other than trying to have a winning record every year so Jerry can charge 18 bucks for a beer.
I don't know how much Jerry charges, but one guy who called into a show was saying how much cheaper the prices were in Atlanta.
Anybody who's trying to put a positive spin on the Mingo deal just stop now please. We gave up a fourth for on his best day a fourth receiver. That's a freaking joke, no matter how you spin it. Typical...
