The Phiilies are on an epic slide losing their 5th consecutive series!
Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox lost on Tuesday for the 83rd time in 110 games. This defeat was their 16th in a row, a whole separate thing from a previously record-setting 14-game slide that ended in June. (Previously, the longest White Sox losing streak was 13. That happened 100 years ago.) As the Sox have piled up Ls, a fringe curiosity has become a serious possibility: They could be the worst team ever.
In the whole history of Major League Baseball, only the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, with 86, lost more of their first 110 ballgames than these White Sox.

Things aren't looking good for the 2 teams who were the best throughout the season in the National league. Philles were never the same since they came back from overseas. They're playing like the Cowboys. One game they're awful, the next they play lights out!

3rd Straight Playoff Loss!
Disappointment is an understatement. This team has failed once again. I wish I could have tallied the amount of times Rob Thomson has stated about how many "good at bats" the team had, or how he "felt good about *insert struggling pitcher's* stuff" since March.
This was a complete meltdown from top to bottom. To start, Thomson was out-managed. He comes out of this looking like an absolute clown. No doubt about it. Schwarber, Turner & Harper come next. The series could have & should have been 2-0. But once again, our highest paid players (billion dollar line-up) forget how to hit a baseball. All four starters had really solid starts, but failed when it counted.
Kevin Long needs to go. Tomorrow. I have absolutely no idea what he was telling these guys, but it doesn't work. At least not when it matters most. Topper right behind him. Brandon Marsh/Alec Bohm & Castellanos need to go. I like em, but their time has come w/Philadelphia. Time to get get some youngsters instead of these has-beens like Jerry acquires.
Dombrowski is going to need to do something about this bullpen. I believe they have enough on our farm to make the necessary upgrades. First to go needs to be Matt Strahm. Maybe Jeff Hoffman as well. What has transpired over the last 5 days has been nothing short of a horrific joke. This organization in it's current form is not built for championships.
It's built to win games when it doesn't matter against teams that are worn out. 3 straight seasons of regression is not a sign of good things to come. No excuse to not bring Soto & Rooker to the Phillies next season & a solid 3rd baseman. End of rant~
