Man, we are never going to get to see what this backfield can really look like with both Bland And Diggs ready to go

We sure are looking good this last game. Gave up both a 70 plus yard run and 70 yard pass. Both for TD’’s!

Just great, we have another QB (Lance) who likes to roll out of the pocket and jump up into the air when he throws.....A INTERCEPTION!!!!

Lance doing his best Dak impersonation.

How many interceptions is that this game?

3 or were there more?

Definitely nothing much to write home about with this game. Some sloppy play in all three phases and as usual, too many penalties. For those that didnt get to watch, here's my two cents.

1) Have to start with Lance, and while he did do some nice things with his arm and his legs, it was far outweighed by throwing 5 picks, 4 of which were truly hideous. He didnt get a ton of help from the OL and there were a few drops (incl a couple really nice throws, one should have been a long TD). But there's just no way to sugar coat the picks. Of the 5, only 1 wasnt his fault. The other 4 were just terrible. One ended up as a pick 6. Two were in the endzone and negated scoring drives for us. He badly missed a wide open Deuce Vaughn on another play. Don't see how he can be ahead of Cooper Rush on the depth chart right now. He has great size and physical talent and on occasion he did make some nice throws. But throwing 5 picks against another team's scrubs is just awful.

2) Really like 6th rd pick Ryan Flournoy and I think he probably sealed making the team tonight. He's big and physical and he is fast. He showed off some strong route running tonight. He might not contribute much this year, but he has a ton of upside for sure. I doubt he'd get through to the practice squad if he is cut.

3) Not good nights for a few bubble guys. I think Malik Davis (gave up a horrible sack and then nearly wiped out a great run for a 1st down by Lance with a dumb holding penalty), Matt Waletzko (two bad holding calls, couple of whiffs in pass pro), newcomer CB Andrew Booth (who got torched on a deep ball for the 2nd straight week) this time from our former flub WR Simi Fehoko. Then he made it worse by totally blowing the tackle and yielding a 78 yd and last yrs 4th rd pick DL Junior Fehoko all got cut. Fehoko totally fucked up containment on a simple reverse (into the short side of the field) and it ended up being a 70 yd TD run. Fehoko has no ability to play DE at all in a 4-3, he's just painfully slow.

4) Like Flournoy, I think Deuce Vaughn probably sealed a roster spot. Had a really solid night overall and ended preseason averaging over 6 yds per carry. Also cleanly caught a couple of punts and had one nice kick return, making him decent insurance at PR/KR if anything happened to Turpin.

5) Asim Richards was already making the team, but he may have sealed up the swing T job and has experience playing G as well. Probably ensured he is active for game days now.

6) Will be interesting to see what they do at the end of the roster LB spot. I think it will come down to Willie Harvey and Buddy Johnson. Johnson made more plays tonight and is quite active, he also has true LB size. Harvey has nearly had a couple of picks now in coverage (dropped another tonight). With Overshown nursing a hip pointer, they might have to keep an extra LB.

7) While its only backups, in all 3 preseason games there was next to no pass rush without blitzing. Sam Williams was a potentially huge loss. Carl Lawson played tonight and did nothing of note that I saw. Marshawn Kneeland has definitely flashed in training camp and preseason, but outside of Parsons, maybe DLaw and Osa Odiggy its hard to see where much pass rush is coming from. DE probably has to be at the top of the wish list for potential roster moves before the season opener.

The Daron Bland injury was a huge loss and we'll likely see that injury bother him all year. Diggs is coming off a major injury and its wishful thinking to believe he is going to be as good as new from day one. With a true lack of pass rushing, we may end up getting carved up by QB's and WR's for the first part of the season.

The folks covering the team believe he's starting v the Browns opp Diggs.

Amari Cooper is one of the best route runners in the league (understatement). The rookie is in for quite the initiation.

Same goes for Tyler Guyton. He'll be going up against probably the league's top DE, certainly one of the top 2 or 3.

Well unless we pay those shitheads Mav we can't see what his predictions are.

So I'll give everyone mine instead.

QB (3)- Prescott, Rush and Lance. Lance has a guaranteed deal so he probably is safe, but Rush is clearly #2

RB (4)- Dowdle, Zeke, Deuce, Luepke. If it were me I'd keep Freeman over Zeke, but the GM is a 'tard so that wont happen

WR (6)- Lamb, Cooks, Tolbert, Turpin, Brooks and Flournoy. Not sure if Lamb counts officially as he is holding out, and Cooks has left camp for "personal reasons" and I havent seen if he returned yet. Brooks DNP yesterday so safe bet he is on the team. Flournoy will never clear waivers to PS. Really like Kelvin Harmon and hope we can stash him on PS. If something is up with Cooks and he doesnt return, getting a veteran WR is a must since it appears Lamb wont be here week 1. (Thanks alot dumbass GM)

TE (4) - Ferguson, Schoonmaker, Stevens, Spann-Ford. I wasn't overly impressed with Spann-Ford but he has size and physicality, and Hendershot is a proven knucklehead. Stephens has upside as a receiver but his lame fumble last night was a turn off. Won't be surprised if there's another 4th TE option off waivers to be honest.

OL (9)- Guyton, T Smith, Beebe, Martin, Steele, A Richards, Bass, Hoffman, Thomas. Ball had a decent camp but I think Waletzko played himself off the roster last night and both of them have had several years now. They can go with 9 because Beebe and Hoffman can both play G/C, Richards can play T/G and likely to be swing guy on game day. Bass is a really solid player (esp for a backup) and he might have trade value as he could def start for some teams. Thomas is more of a PS guy but he does have upside. They could potentially go with 8 here due to the position flex so many of our guys have.

DL (8)- DLaw, Odiggy, Mazi, Kneeland, J Phillips, Joseph, Golston, Vet acquisition. Parsons will obviously play DE a lot but I am counting him at LB. Lawson did nothing last night to make me think he is a certainty. Fehoko has been terrible. 7th rd pick Rogers is a PS guy, esp with them getting Phillips and Joseph. They desperately need another DE that can rush the passer. Kneeland has bright future but he's a rook.

LB (6)- Parsons, Kendricks, Overshown, Clark, Liufau, Buddy Johnson. Damien Wilson might stick if they keep 7.

CB (6/5)- Diggs, Bland (going to temp IR), Lewis, Carson, Scott, Booth or Hall. I don't think Booth belongs but with Bland going to IR they have to keep an extra one for now and it will prob come down to him or Hall (who looked better IMO). Scott looks improved over his rookie yr.

S (5)- Wilson, Hooker, J Thomas, Bell, Mukuamu or Wood. Mukuamu has some advantage of being able to play some at S or CB or inside on the slot, but Wood made plays in all 3 games and had a couple of picks to go along with some nice hits.

ST (3)- Legend Aubrey, Anger and Sieg

Does anyone think the Cowboy's will keep #42 Vaughn as a running back? I like that little guy, I'm sure some other team will if they don't

I think he's made the team again, and so do most of the people who cover the team. He was good in each of the last two preseason games and closed camp strong after an injury.
