The problem with Lance is that his throwing motion is still not where it needs to be. That makes him a tick off and also results in inaccuracy. How the heck was he EVER ranked so high when he came out of college not properly throwing a football? Remember that he has been working on this now for 3 years!
As much as I get on Prescott, it's mostly because I think his contract demands hurt the team and make it more difficult than necessary to build a Super Bowl champion. Trades are harder because the players contract might be too hard, etc.
However, Prescott worked very hard to clean up his mechanics. His footwork last year was outstanding. Moving to a West Coast-type offense required that he master the footwork needed, and he did.
When Prescott first entered the league he used to lock out his front knee. He worked on that and by the next year (maybe 2) he was no longer locking his front knee.
Prescott also worked on his arm motion. We all saw him make that hip twist motion. He worked on getting his legs into the throw.
Lance, who received all sorts of coaching tips and attention in San Francisco (also special attention in Dallas), is still not throwing the ball the way an NFL quarterback should throw the ball. He has a "wind-up" in his throw. I don't know, maybe he thinks he is Mahomes.
And I don't care what anyone else says, trading a 4th for a player that you had no real intention to make a starter (just going by Jerry's own words) for a player that you have for only 1 year, when you could have drafted a QB and kept him for 4 years, is idiotic.
That 4th round pick could have been a RB.
Also, as I thought, Michael Penix is doing well in Atlanta. He'll probably be their starter after 2 years if not before since Cousins deal is really a 2 year deal. That's how you do it. When a QB is there that you like you take him. Get younger and give yourself a window, even if it is only 2 years, with cheap QB play.
