Havent seen an official word on if he is starting or if Cooper Rush will start. There's only 3 QB's on the roster though and we know Prescott isnt playing, so it's Lance/Rush in some order for whole game.

So the first preseason game is about to start. By all reports it seems that Trey Lance is about to prove on live TV once and for all that Dak has ALL the leverage in contract negotiations!

This is a large part of why Dak thinks he can talk like an idiot. He's had this as an example...

I knew even with the new kickoff nonsense Aubrey would still boom those touchbacks...

Meanwhile people are walking over the border with no identification and voting without ID. They should be identifying people at the gate as they walk in, not using facial recognition. Just ask for ID.

They use that at street corners in China, and follow people around. If they do something wrong, the police knock on the door.

I am not counting on it because I think Trey Lance sucks. But I am hoping for a pleasant surprise and I am hoping Trey Lance balls out! I sure would like to save about 20 million or more on the QB position. I read Dak is asking for 55 million per season average.

Of course, then the question becomes would Trey agree to 25-30 per season? No guarantee.

To provide context, we read about Jared Goff signing his contract, right? Well, look at Goff's numbers for 2024 and 2025. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/18949/jared-goff

Will do a more thorough run down later tonight or tomorrow, but Mike Zimmer continues to show why he is probably the worst defensive coordinator in NFL history when a game is on the line.

I get it, it's total scrubs out there. But geez, this is his MO to a "T"

Basically have your way the whole day, then find a way to lose in final two mins. Thats what he has done since his first days as a DC, it continued with the Bungles and Vikes and in his first game back in Dallas, he does the same thing again.

Didn't Emmett hold out until the third game of the season until Troy Aikman told Jerry Jones to pull his head from his ass after their first two loses of the season and re-sign him? Jones just needs sign Lamb for what he's asking an get the team focused Dak's best season of his worthless career and their run to the Superbowl. *winks*

Trey Lance is just as underwhelming as I remember. Based on today I'm not comfortable with him being number two, much less as an option for our future starter.

I'd consider it for 2 number one picks and a 3rd. One of the easiest positions to replace is WR. And if Dak truly thinks she deserves 55 million per because "it's his turn," then he needs to earn it by being able to produce with maybe a lesser WR. Patrick Mahomes, IMHO, did it. Justin Herbert is being asked to do it.

I understand Jefferson in MN got paid, but they don't have a QB. Tua is making PEANUTS in 2024, so they can afford to give lots of cheese to the WR. 2025 is also reasonable. In 2026 he gets PAID, but they have an out in 2027. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/47598/tua-tagovailoa

For 2 number ones, yes, I'd think very hard about it.

Oh what am I talking about? Jerry is the same guy who traded Amari Cooper for a 6th and gave up a 1. And gave up a 4th for Lance who still can't throw the football.

There was no salary cap back then!!

On top of that, the entire "we can't win without Emmitt" was media hype. The Cowboys were loaded from top to bottom. You mean to tell me a team like that can't win without their RB? They can't make adjustments? That doesn't say much for HOF coach Jimmy Johnson.

it was a lot of media BS, just like it was with Zeke Elliot, who after signing his contract proceeded to decline.

The problem Dallas has now is they might also have no running game. So take away lamb and no running game, and a still questionable OL...ouch, that might hurt.

But there is a salary cap, so I disagree with just giving Lamb what he wants. Unfortunately, we have Lamb AND Dak due at the same time. Justin Jefferson got paid. Who is the Vikings QB?

Players play the game. Players make the plays. It looked to me like Bennett made a nice play.

I suspect if he continues playing exactly how we saw yesterday, Cooper Rush will easily remain the #2 QB (which isnt the worst thing in the world)

That said, while Lance struggled I would like to see him with some of the better players around him. The only "starters" he played with were Hoffman and Guyton (which actually didnt start but should have/should be).
