Handicapping is relative. Who do we have who is better? When he is healthy, he is very good. So what will we do now? Moving Tyler to OT? It is my opinion, and I've read that others now finally agree with me that Tyler can be a HOF LT, but a really good LT. We are not wasting Tyler's talent by moving him to LT, but we are not fully utilizing his talent either.

I'd rather have 8 games of a healthy Tyron than 17 games of "He SUCKS".

When I do my mocks the top tackles are gone. I'm talking about the ones who could be the next Tryon Smith. There are a couple still available, but they have flaws in their game. Like Tyler Guyton. He's tall. There is such a thing as being too tall if you can't bend. They say he is s bit stiff, lacks some ankle flexion, and he's inconsistent.

Do you want someone like that protecting the blindside of your "franchise" QB on day one? He's too tall to move to G while he gets comfortable.

Troy Fautanu is projected as a G in the NFL. I guess I'd rather get him if he's available and move Tyler to OT, but he just went to the Steelers on my latest mock.

I mean, after Mims, IMHO, it's iffy. In this mock Mims went 16 to Seattle.

Oh, and besides, in order to draft Guyton in my mock, I have to pass over the best Center in the draft, Jackson Powers-Johnson, which I do not want to do. After that, I'm wiped out at tackle.

In this scenario, I guess I would have been better off passing on Powers Jackson because I've got Zach Frazier (C) at the top of the board available,

The point is replacing Tyron isn't going to be a piece of cake. Jerry better get this shit right.

A lot of the draft is luck! If another team takes the player that you want then you are shit out of luck and have to settle for someone else, but sometimes that someone else turns out to be better than the player you wanted, so you're lucky.

YIP. There are lots of head scratching draft picks, like Gregory, Jaylon Smith, Trystan Hill and more.

Apparently we are a good drafting team. Which begs the question of how bad the other teams are.

Back in the day, the Cowboys were the first to use computers to help them draft. I wonder if we still use computer programs to do predictive analysis that can weigh, for example, a million different variables and spit out scenarios. Or if it all comes down to Jerry's gut feeling based on what he's told.

We are all familiar with sites like Fanspeak for example. I would think that an NFL team has the money to make something far more sophisticated.

Well they must be pretty damn good at drafting. We dont acquire hardly any talent from free agency and we know we've had nothing but trash fucking coaches for eons.

If they didnt draft well they'd be a 2 or 3 win team every fucking year.

And the 20 mil includes a massive amount of $$$ for playing time and other incentives, I thought I saw his base salary was 6.5 mils

These two fucktards have orchestrated that what so far, appears to be one of the worst offseasons in NFL history.

They have repeatedly signed guys to horrible, head scratching contracts that handicap the team.

They haven't hired a good football coach since Jimmy Johnson. (Parcells was great at one time but he was washed when we got him)

Clown fucktard Jethro proclaimed "we're all-in" after watching the most embarrassing display of postseason football in the team's history. Then proceeds to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The only guy we've signed apparently happened because Zimmer begged the Jones to do it and then convinced Kendricks to come here on his own.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING?

This season looks like a 4-13 or 5-12 disaster for sure.

$6.5 is not bad then. Because if the other $13.5 are availability based he Will never see that money.

No other team is going to baby him and allow him to not practice like we just did. Especially when he’s coming into a new scheme.

If he has to practice everyday he likely doesn’t make it past training camp. If he does he’s gone by week six. Book it! The dude hasn’t played an entire season in 8 years. He has missed over 2 and a half ENTIRE SEASONS worth of games with us.

Why wait otherwise? To me the fact they are already thinking "training camp" before doing anything and gutting the roster along the way means they are probably NOT going to extend him.

And if they've decided to move on from him (finally) I'm good with it 100%, and I'll take back most of the bad stuff I've said the past several days. I hope they cut the cord completely. I'd rather go 5-12 or 6-11 with Trey Lance than 9-8 or something with Prescott and be completely screwed cap wise for years because of some crazy new deal where we make him one of the highest paid players in the league. At some point they have to have far better discipline when it comes to how they think through some of these contract extensions. Prescott's first deal was awful. Zeke's deal was bad. Jaylon Smith's deal was awful. Terrance Steele is the next mega flop contract that we'll have to suffer through, and several others.

Maybe there is some thought that he may get suspended for a couple game this season. Which I highly doubt it would happen this fast. If he was going to be suspended it would likely happen next season.

But if that was the case and he missed 3-6 or more games it would give us a chance to trot Trey Lance out there and see what the kid can do.

To me it's a bit like watching a 40 yard dash and one guy runs it in 4.22, another in 4.23, another in 4.24, and another in 4.26 and everyone pretends that the guy who runs a 4.22 is soooo much faster.

Per this article, the Cowboys rank as the 4th best drafting team. The absolute worst drafting team is the Jaguars (never mind that they beat us and there QB is likely better and on the cusp of being a star, IMHO).

The Cowboys have drafted 3 First Team All-Pros compared to the Jags' none. But the Jags are the worst drafting team, even though they made the playoffs.

Now if we compare the Patriots, who rank 9th, have 2 All-pros. That is a difference of ONE!

But you'll see that when they do these rankings there are all sorts of criteria that can be argued with. Like the team gets 5 points for winning the SB, but is that right? Is that really a reflection of drafting?

All I know is Taco instead of TJ Watt, Escobar instead of Kelce, Trystan Hill instead of Juan Thornhill, Chaz Green instead of, well, me, and more...

It's those huge swings and huge misses that bother me. Is Mazi another one? We'll see.

We have a philosophy of re-signing our own players. so that also skews the numbers. Other teams might be more willing to let their own go and replace the player with someone else. Jourdan Lewis has re-signed. On another team he might have been gone.

All sorts of variables that can be argued all day.
