I know it’s early, but this season just “feels” different to me
This team has been preaching “next man up” for years. Yet somehow was never able to make it happen. In years past if Dak went down, so did the season. When Sean Lee was out everything went to shit and the defense fell apart. Next man up just never seemed to work out for us.
But this season is different. Dak went down and Rush goes 4-0! Tyron Smith gets injured and Tyler Smith steps in and hardly misses a beat. Michael Gallup starts the season on PUP and Noah Brown steps in and has the most productive games of his career. Amari Cooper gets traded and CeeDee appears to be taking the next step in his development as WR1.
This is the type of shit that would NEVER happen in years past.
In years past we could count on Kellen Moore to pass the ball much more than run the ball. Even when he had success running the ball he would always revert back to his pass happy offense. This season he is sticking with the run. Let’s hope that doesn’t change when Dak gets back.
If we can keep the penalties down, run the ball, and actually stop the run we might make some noise this year.
However, I fear that this is all an illusion and that Moore is going to go back to slingin it all over the yard when Dak gets back. Which will get us the same old results we have always had. Great statistical success, and one and done in the playoffs!
