Like Mick scouting Clubber Lang in the Rocky3 movie, I've been watching Philly all season and not liking what I see for our guys. They're poised to cause some problems in the playoffs if they get there. Not a team I want to see.

We're one and done at best anyway so it really doesn't matter too much the opponent. But still.

On the other hand, when I run the same comparison as I did in the other post, Philly hasnt beaten a single team currently in the playoffs (0-5)

I'll admit I am a little more worried about Philly in week 18 than the Cardinals the week before, but the fact is Philly is not very good and we beat them by 3 tds the last time we played them. The Eagles also lost to the Giants a couple weeks ago and managed only 7 pts in that game.

Are you proclaiming we'll lose in our 1st postseason game? If so what would you like to wager on that?

Barring a total screw job by the Covid garbage, I don't see us losing that first game.

That was two totally different teams at the time.

Ours keeps trying to do shit we're not good at and doesn't work, theirs figured out what their players do well and do ONLY that.

I'll give you we are different because our offense isnt playing like it did, on the other hand we are better defensively than we were then too.

Philly has run the ball great but even if you want to say "they have figured it out and are better now) their best win this yr was at Denver (the week after they beat us), its the only win they have vs a team with a winning record and their remaining wins are Falcons, Panthers, Lions, Saints, Jets and Wokeskins. I had also erroneously stated they barely beat the Giants a couple weeks ago but they actually LOST that game and only scored 7 pts in doing so.

I don't want to see them in the playoffs. Just like Mick didn't want Rocky fighting Clubber Lang.

There's a lot of truth to this Dooms and exactly what I thought while I was watching them last night. They know what they do well and play that system. I'd feel a while lot better about any potential playoff success had our O not completely shit the bed. I hope we get it back together the next 3 weeks before the playoffs. But right now, our team is a complete 180 from what we saw at the start of the season.

This is not to say it's not gadgetry, it is. But for the last seven weeks it's been very effective gadgetry. It's mostly concepts of read-option, triple-option football from the 40s melded with modern-day pass concepts when they do pass. Opponents haven't figured out how to stop that run game yet and you gotta play assignment football, to have a chance. And it's gotta be DISCIPLINED assignment football.

When they run 70 plays that doesn't leave the opponent with a helluva lot of snaps. That's what oughta scare the shit out of us. When have we been stopping the run at all this year, really?

Hurts has 1/3 of their rushing yards and 1/2 their rushing TDs

We have quite a few guys who can run with him and have the ultimate QB spy in Parsons if we choose to deploy him that way. Hurts ran the ball 9 times for 35 yards when we played them the last time.

That said, as I mentioned before they surprised everyone when they hardly tried to run the ball (only 3 attempts by RB's) but then they got way behind and didnt have much choice after that anyway.

I'd love to see them in the playoffs because frankly, they just arnt very good.
I'm not convinced that we are very good. Have zero confidence in this collection of player personnel. I don't even call it a team. A TEAM is gonna smoke us in the playoffs.
