I havent seen any evidence that Witten will be returning.

And what do you expect him to say about Garrett? Did you really believe he was gonna go out in public with "the guy sux donkey dick and we should have never extended him"

A story just came out today that states Jason wants to return to the Cowboys next season

That’s not to say that the Cowboys actually want him back. Hopefully MM will put a stop to this and let him ride off into the sunset before he embarrasses himself

I hope that Witten either stays or retires a Cowboy. Does anyone other than Jason Garrett want to see Witten a Giant?

Prescott wasnt an attempt to find his replacement? Romo was the starter when we drafted Prescott.

No more so than Stephen McGee being Romo's replacement. Prescott wasn't even the back-up QB and would have never seen the field had Kellen Moore not gotten hurt.

There is a weird alternate reality where Kellen Moore starts most of the 2016 season and we end up drafting Trubisky.

He needs to retire

Love the guy, but his time has come. His YAC average is damn near zero

When he catches the ball he essentially falls over on the spot
Plus keeping him on the roster and giving him playing further stalls the development of Jarwin and in a West Cost offense got to have a dynamic TE...
I love him too, shit named a dog after him, but the time has come...

Why Trubinsky and not Mahomes or Watson?

I'd guess Mahomes was seen as a typical Tech QB who lights up the NCAA but can't quite morph into pro systems.
As for Watson, probably the Bears thought Trubisky fit their system better, even though Watson had almost as many passing yards in '16 as Trubisky did in his whole career. IIRC, Trubisky rose up in draft stock late in the process, still not real clear why.

Short version: Bears personnel Dept screwed the pooch evaluating, then doubled down by trading up.

Good grief.

Come on dude, Prescott was behind Moore for what , a week in training camp or something before he got hurt? You have no idea how that would have played out once Moore got on the field in the preseason, and certainly in real games had he made it to week one as the actual starting QB. Moore was so bad, there's no fucking way he'd have stayed ahead of Prescott. Prescott was 3rd on the depth chart to start camp because that's where he should have been as a rookie 4th rd pick.

There is also absolutely no comparison between McGee in college and Prescott in college. They were both drafted in the same round, but McGee was probably over-drafted and Prescott was clearly under-drafted and only available where we got him because of the DWI mess.

Dude is probably gonna go play or coach for the NYG. Not sure how I feel about that.

I couldnt care less about. Witten wasnt a threat here with a pretty damn awesome offense and supporting cast, he wont be a threat there either. The guys just too old.

Stephen Jones tells me always a need for a top swing tackle but no concern about LT Tyron Smith’s health. Leighton Vander Esch, no real update yet following offseason neck surgery would “likely have limitations up to training camp before we turn him loose.”

Stephen Jones says they have a list of guys they want to get done and starts with the guys in Indy. Will have more details on the CBA sooner rather than later and goal is to meet with agents in Indy and sign as many of their guys as they can. They like their players...
