Free QB, paid him cheap on a rookie deal, then was able to get a much higher 2nd round pick for him than was used. Great deal for the Pats, and he might indeed be the answer for someone as a starter.

And it's, "Heir Apparent." But Garoppolo was a "Heir Presumptive." The difference being, the Heir Apparent can't be displaced, the Heir Presumptive can.

You are correct

So basically Belichick just bent over the 49er FO to the tune of a second rounder which could be number 33 overall. Lets think about this for a second. Brady is 40 so this guy could be needed anytime but Belichick sells high and Garrapolo who will likely be a human tackling dummy in SF for one year because he is a system QB who isnt very good. Also SF will still likely draft a QB in the first because they have tickets to sell and Garapolo isnt going to accomplish that. Is it any wonder why NE has five rings in twenty years, SF is a train wreck, and we have sniffed the NFC championship game in a generation.

Didn’t Brady say he wants to play like 5 more years?

The heir apparent is still a senior in high school.

He did say that

But he ain’t super human

He’s got to hit a wall sometime soon. Right? I hope!

His body will eventually let him down just like every other star QB in the history of the game when they get up there around his age

Trevor Simien just threw another interception.

Dude is one of the worst QB's in the league.

Says volumes about how bad Paxton Lynch must be there that he cant get on the field ahead of this scrub.

Worst part of it is- only game he has looked like an NFL QB this year was week two vs us.

The way Siemian's playing once Lynch is cleared to play it's almost definite to gets another shot. The only reason he's still out there now is they don't want to go to Osweiler unless something apocalyptic happens. What a dumpster fire...

brady said he wants to play like 4-5 more years. hoyer was supposed to be included in the trade for jimmy g, but including him would negate some type of pick compensation. i don't really know the details but the patriots are going to sign hoyer. i think the 49ers already released him.

everything you hear out of new england from this point on is likely to paint jimmy g in a negative light, and make the new england belichiks look good. there's always a smear campaign after trades happen in boston.

- they'll tell you that jimmy wanted to play and couldn't wait to fly to SF (obviously who wouldn't want to go be the franchise guy right now?).
- they'll tell you the pats and jimmy couldn't meet on a contract extension because jimmy shot down every number.
- they'll tell you jimmy has no heart and he's a bitch for not fighting through the same injury that jamies winston just suffered and missed like what, 1-2 weeks? jimmy missed a month. mind you, this was during brady's 4-game suspension. but fuck it man, why risk your health and chance at a massive pay day to only become a backup once brady is back?

this all started at the nfl draft. and the patriots FUCKED UP. but, they at least try to break even (hint: dallas really sucks at this "general managing" aspect of running a team). all those moves they made trading draft picks for duds like dwayne allen and kony ealy (i thought ealy was a steal, but i'm surprised he sucked in NE but he's playing better with the jets). so the rumors were MULTIPLE picks for jimmy g. whether that's all bullshit or not, i think jimmy's value was higher then because he would've been going into training camp with his new team, instead of now learning a new offense mid-season. so that opportunity to maximize his value came and went. the pats didn't get anything for him and sat on him in case brady went down. and instead, they shipped off jacoby brissett for a very fast wide receiver/returner philip dorsett. the pats WR's are dropping like flies so he may get a chance to play more.

and now there's still rumors that the pats are going to trade the 2nd rounder they got for jimmy PLUS malcom butler for possibly another player. and they're saying the pats would do it for a defensive lineman or linebacker.

I saw that too

According to a depth chart Edelman is the emergency backup

It’s about time for the Madden cover curse to take full effect

They're getting Brian Hoyer, Niners were going to include him on trade but released him instead.

Not really surprised, doubt we were doing anything anyway but the Zeke news probably sealed the deal on the trade deadline for us.

"Eagles VP of Football Operations Howie Roseman said LeGarrette Blount remains the team's starting running back, even after acquiring Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins on Tuesday."

Demarco Murray trade rumors swirling. This is probably people on the interwebs putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5 but how would you guys feel about this if the price was right?
