I thought the exact same thing.

I actually was out jogging and listening to the game. The announcers (national, not Sham and Laufenberg) didn't think it was a first down, and when one of them mentioned the folded paper, I thought he was kidding. When I got back and watched the video I couldn't believe that's what it looked like and he actually ruled it a first down.

This was the first game he'd worked since the Dez Catch game, and I wonder if he just didn't want any more crap from Cowboys fans.

stunned to see Dallas be on the receiving end of one of those rare penalties. In this case, the kicking team on the punt was called for blocking in the back, I don't recall ever seeing that called before

Did anyone ever hear any more detail about that? Wonder how bad it is. He was at least standing on the sideline watching.

I hope he's not another incredible talent wasted for this team. Just more proof you can't spend a decade "building." Great players don't last forever.

Everyone has to know that Jerry has done at least as many sorry things as Richardson is accused of doing...

I kind of wondered about that myself, there's certainly been quite a bit hit the internet on him.

Makes me think whatever Richardson was involved in, must have been REALLY bad for him to willingly sell the team without overwhelming pressure from the league and the media.

Yeah no update yet, but it didn't sound good. Even Spagnola was saying after the game there was real concern it was serious.

Whatever it was, they made no effort to try and get him back in. Like Spags and Archer said, Smith is a really tough guy. If he couldn't go back in it's likely not good.
