Random but idgaf.... some Eagles players are going to protest the national anthem this weekend. And apparently this is a big thing in a lot of high schools across the country. Fuck you kaepernick for making this lazy, completely ineffective gesture a thing. Nothing will be accomplished through all of this. Nor should it be. The entire 'cause' is bullshit. Dear media, stop giving this attention.

Kaepernick may completely mean well, I don't know, but it sure feels like a publicity/popularity stunt at this point.

My problems with this whole National Anthem thing are multi-fold.
1) The NFL is not even handed. They allow any and all left wing gripes, but clamp down with threats of fines for any display that is pro American or right of center such as honoring slain police with a modest sticker or special cleats.
2) The NFL should be an escape from the ever encroaching bullshit of leftist "in your face" politics which are often insane on their "merits", or based completely upon total bullshit. The NFL will lose audience (as it already has based upon week 1 numbers) if they do not get the politics out of the sport.
3) Most ordinary people would lose their jobs pulling "look at me" stunts on company time.
4) None of these spoiled brat assholes has volunteered to donate the vast majority of their salaries to those they claim to be standing up for. Let them live on a modest self imposed salary of say 50K a year while continuing to play in the NFL. All the rest of their salary should then be handed out in the ghetto. Funny how that isn't happening at all thus putting the lie to their cause. This is just about attention seeking in the era of the grievance industry.
