Detroit had the LEAD tonight, when they abandoned the run game. Teams do that for the same reason we used to - running the ball just isn't sexay enough for them.

That's exactly the way Atlanta and Green Bay play.

Who do we root for in that one lol? I'd say, if the winner was coming to Dallas, I'd take Eli over Rodgers.
Yeah I'm always gonna root for the Giants vs. everyone except Dallas. Because if not for Wellington Mara, there isn't a Dallas Cowboys, and there wouldn't have been Tom Landry coaching them. We owe a debt of gratitude.

You're confused. We still kept running the ball. It doesn't matter the ball carrier, we didn't abandon the run. We just rested the starter here and there.

Tonight we saw from Detroit what we used to do. They just stopped calling running plays altogether.

When your player with the second most rushing yards on the team behind Zeke is your QB, then yes, taking Zeke out and replacing him with another running back IS abandoning the run!

You gotta look at the attempts. We are LAST in the league in rushing attempts against us. Those defenses are legitimate run stoppers because they have a ton of attempts against them compared to us. Nobody's really tried all that hard to run on us and the first one who does is gonna get 200+ on us.

This game tonight is the 8th or 9th time we've seen this, getting gashed - then the opponent just abandons it.

I did look at the attempts. And I knew you were going to bring that up. SOMEBODY HAS TO BE LAST IN ATTEMPTS. Usually a team that is good in run defense is going to have fewer attempts.

The Titans, Steelers, Patriots, and Ravens are right behind us in least amount of rushing attempts. Titans are #30, Steelers #29, Patriots #28, Ravens #27.

So once again... if the Cowboys run defense is not legit, then by the same argument, neither of those aforementioned teams.

And just stop. They abandoned the run, because the Cowboys started to stop it, primarily in the second half.

What?

Yes the #6 seed would come to Dallas if they beat the #3 seed (Atlanta) and Dallas wouldn't have played a playoff game yet so there is no way they would have already lost.

Are you drunk?

The Way the winner of the Giants vs GB game comes to Dallas is if Atlanta wins

and I do believe this was Bushmaster78FS question, feel free to correct me Bush if I misunderstood

I'm really realistically trying to guess who's our first opponent.

If it ended today, this is what it is. Seattle and GB would most likely win and GB would come to Dallas right? GB would be lowest seed #4 and Seattle would go to Atlanta and lose. So NFC Championship game would be either us vs Atlanta or we would be rooting for Atlanta against GB who beat us. Am I tracking?

You don't see those teams getting gashed like we do. When the first playoff opponent who really tries and sticks with it, and runs up 200+ yards rushing on us, I'll let you tell me I told you so.

The Giants stuck with the running game with us, even when it wasn't working. Where were we getting gashed? A couple of plays is not a gashing.

Dude. Look at the number of attempts. The nearest to us among the top teams you name, has 50 MORE attempts on them than we do.

There are a number of issues with Gregory

This was his first game all season so I expected him to be out of shape. I said it before the game started

But first and foremost he has proven he can not be trusted. I stopped counting the failed drug tests at six

All this hype for a kid who has yet to record a single sack

He may be great someday. But he has to get out of his own way first!

Mark my words, he will be suspended for drugs again and next time it's for an entire season

Totally agree. My thing was not just looking at his body of work from this game but from last year.

Compare his work to a guy like Collins who has stormed offensive lineman this year with consistent plays.

If he is suspended again. I said Stephen has put his foot down and say let's get rid of him. Jerry is looking at talent but his play doesn't show much either

And won the game. Twice.
Just stay tuned pal. It's coming. Our weak run defense will get exposed in the playoffs.

Our offense makes it almost impossible for opposing teams to stick with their running game. Hence the argument concerning rushing attempts against us.

Are you certain you a Cowboys fan. I understand the agony of years when we were doing so great and always bombed in the playoffs. This is a different team with many more elements. Remember our defense hasn't been 100% yet. With no Claiborne possibly returning for the playoffs and our defensive lineman coming back during the playoffs as well. We will continue the good fortune and be super bowl bound.

Side Note.
Amazing we have two undrafted free agents in Benson and Irving causing major damage as of late. Also Collins has been awesome this year. These guys have really played that many snaps this season. Kudos to Will McClay and our scouts for finding these good players

Because the Cowboys buckled down and shut the running game down. That's why they abandoned it.

But that's not why they won. Yeah they stuck with the running game, but it's far from the reason as to why they won.

Honestly that's good coaching and making adjustments. For years Garrett ran a team that would continue to do the same old things even when no success was forthcoming. Now we are learning to make adjustments during the game. Hopefully our offense learned from our Giants game.

Still glad we lost the game so we won't be talking about a streak any longer. Only streak I want to see now is during the playoffs.
