This is why taking a chance on a player should only be reserved for later than the 4th rd. Gregory is just the latest example of what usually happens when you trust a druggie.
Dak on the other hand seems like an idiot. Only a little more than a month to go and he cannot stay away from booze or whatever.
Lack of self control; lack of self discipline; call it whatever you want. Take him off the board completely. If he cannot handle the pressure now what happens when he is in the Big Leagues for real?
That is why I shake my head at the morons that STILL want to bring in JTLP (Johnny the Little Prick).

Different states use different terms.

DUI = Driving Under the Influence

DWI = Driving While Intoxicated

Thx

I realized after I hit send I should have been more specific, I know what the acronyms stand for but I don't know how the law treats them differently. I'm assuming DUI isn't as bad as DWI?

IIRC, DWI is greater than the legal limit of BAC (10%?)

DUI < 10%?

guess I could get off my ass and google it:

Both DUI and DWI refer to the illegal act of driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. The chief difference lies in what the letters mean. DUI designates driving under the influence, while DWI refers to driving while intoxicated. While they may sound identical on the surface, some states actually classify them as separate crimes.

If you live in a jurisdiction that classifies them separately, DUI is the lesser charge. A DUI charge denotes a lesser degree of impairment than a DWI for a driver charged with drinking and driving. Level of impairment is determined by the driver’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of arrest. In some cases, the state may agree to a plea bargain, reducing a more serious charge of DWI to DUI.

There are certain conditions that must be met in order to reduce a DWI charge to a DUI. For example, it must be a first offense and the driver’s BAC may not be excessively over the state’s legal limit.

I initially assumed it was alcohol related but drugs are in play too under either scenario, so who knows what this dumbass did

Depends on the state. Like cmd said, some states use DUI instead of DWI and vice versa, but the primary offense is driving while you're over a certain legal limit... I think all states use 0.08% BAC as the initial threshold.

In Texas it's called DWI. But we also have DUI... it refers to an underage drinker who is driving while under the legal limit. The offense is more about the fact that the driver isn't legal to drink at all.

same thing, same perimeters of .08 BAC

They just changed the name over the years

In Maryland you get slapped with all 3: DUI, DWI and DUI or DWI per se.

Eagles GM: Big dropoff after top 10 players in 2016 NFL Draft

By Dan Parr
College Football 24/7 Editor
Published: March 14, 2016 at 10:40 a.m.
Updated: March 14, 2016 at 11:45 a.m.

Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman is allowing a peek into what motivated him to make a deal with the Dolphins last week, and he's making a statement about the depth, or lack thereof, at the top of the 2016 NFL Draft class at the same time.

Philadelphia sent linebacker Kiko Alonso and cornerback Byron Maxwell to Miami last week, and the teams swapped first-round picks in the trade. The Eagles moved up to No. 8, and the Dolphins moved down to No. 13.

From Roseman's perspective, the 5-spot jump in Round 1 gives his team a chance to get an impact player the likes of which wouldn't have been available had they stayed at No. 13.

"In the past few drafts, often we'd be picking lower in the first round, and we'd just miss out on a guy we had targeted," Roseman told MMQB. "This year we felt there was a big dropoff after 10 players, so I talked to people about trying to move into the top 10."

Now, that's the opinion of one GM out of 32 and teams don't always view an individual player or a draft class as a whole in the same way. But if Roseman has company when it comes to that belief, then teams with the ammo for a trade-up are likely at least doing their due diligence on what it would take to get into the top 10.

As for whom the Eagles could be targeting at No. 8, there's a belief that the deal with the Dolphins might have been fueled by the Eagles' desire to beat Miami to the punch for Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott. Both teams have a need at running back, and Elliott is the No. 1 player at the position. For Philly, Elliott could replace DeMarco Murray, who was dealt to the Tennessee Titans last week.

Of course, it's possible that a team drafting ahead of the Eagles could snatch Elliott -- NFL Media analyst Charles Davis has him going No. 4 to the Cowboys in his most recent mock draft.

If Elliott is indeed Plan A, Roseman's Plan B, according to the GM's comment, will still be a lot better than the idea of standing pat and drafting outside of the top 10.

We could have an all Ohio State Thursday/Friday and be pretty well off entering training camp:

1) RB Zeke Elliott
2) SS Von Bell
3) OLB Josh Perry

Zierlein: Jack will be in top-three pick conversation after pro day

By Chase Goodbread

Myles Jack isn't alone in having great expectations for his workout on Tuesday at UCLA's pro day.

After then-pending medical clearance prevented him from participating in the NFL Scouting Combine last month, the former UCLA star linebacker has since received clearance and NFL scouts will be looking for the versatile defender to go through a full battery of drills.

NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein believes scouting buzz of a potential top-three pick could follow.

"What I think is going to happen, because I've seen some of his workouts from over a month ago, I think he's going to kill it," Zierlein said. "I think everyone's going to be talking about whether he's a top-three pick. I think he's going to be the most buzzed-about prospect after his pro day, that's my prediction. There will be discussions about whether he should be the first pick of the draft.

One NFL scout already thinks he merits the top pick. Jack was first cleared for running in January, and has been rehabilitating his knee injury full-time since withdrawing from school last fall. He was injured in practice days after the Bruins' third game of the season, and announced his intention to enter the draft as an underclassman and withdrawal from school days later.

"I'm not really concerned about the times. I just want to see how he's moving around and how he's recovering from his injury," said NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah. "He's already way up there (on draft boards). This is just one of these deals where he can solidify his spot."

Four of five analysts who have published mock drafts project Jack to be chosen No. 5 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. There isn't much room to climb any higher in the draft, but for a prospect coming off a season-ending injury who hasn't worked out yet, anticipation is nevertheless plenty high.

"I think you want to make sure he looks the part with his movements, and I mean all of it -- how he bends, flexibility, lateral movement -- you want to make sure he looks exactly the way he looked on tape before his injury," Zierlein said. "I think you want to see his explosion numbers match up with what you see off the tape."

Jack said at the combine that some clubs have discussed with him the possibility of playing safety at the pro level. Whether he plays linebacker or safety, his pro-day performance could ensure that he won't last long.

Bruce Arians: Combine receivers slowest in 20 years

By Chase Goodbread
College Football 24/7 writer
Published: March 14, 2016 at 05:30 p.m.
Updated: March 14, 2016 at 06:32 p.m.

The wide receiver class in the 2016 NFL Draft drew its share of criticism at the NFL Scouting Combine in February for its lack of speed. But NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock and Chris Harris of the Denver Broncos weren't the only ones to notice; Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians made a similar remark.

"It was probably more disappointment than guys catching my eye at Indy, this is the slowest group of receivers I've ever seen in 20 years," Arians said, according to Mike Jurecki of Fox Sports 910.

Only two receivers ran under 4.4 40-yard dashes at the combine, Notre Dame's Will Fuller and TCU's Kolby Listenbee. Pittsburgh's Tyler Boyd ran 4.58, and Oregon' Bralon Addison ran just 4.66. Ohio State's Michael Thomas ran just 4.57 and teammate Braxton Miller fell short of his own expectations with a 4.50, though Miller improved slightly on that time at OSU's pro day last week.

Suffice it to say Miller won't be the only receiver running a pro-day repeat on his 40-yard dash.

Of course, not all the receivers ran in Indianapolis, and those that didn't could eventually show the class has more speed than the combine indicated. Arguably the draft's top two receivers, Baylor's Corey Coleman and Ole Miss' Laquon Treadwell, have yet to test in the 40. Two others who have yet to run: South Carolina's Pharoh Cooper and Notre Dame's Chris Brown. The pro days for all four are yet to come.

The prevailing opinion out of the combine, however, doesn't leave much room for reversal.

Jeremiah and Davis on Cowboys Draft strategy. Might be a tad dated, they don't have Thornton at DT yet.

Davis is all over EE at 4
