Unless I was completely blown away with an offer I would stay at 4 if I was the raiders. Take Cooper and give your QB a shot at being something. Leonard Williams would be tempting but I think you gotta give your young QB a young and potentially great receiver to grow with.

It's never gonna happen but one player I wouldn't mind seeing the Cowboys go up for if he starts sliding is Shane Ray.

Don't think he'll slide nearly as much as he'd need to for us to legitimately consider. We'd have to surrender a 1, 2, plus next years 1 and maybe more.

Eff that.

@evansilva: The draft community was down on Jeremy Hill last year & he had a monster rookie season. T.J. Yeldon is my early pick to be this year's Hill.

Not sure about the Yeldon love. I'm a little wary of Bama backs with Ingram just being pretty good and Richardson being an epic bust. They typically have great coaching and great OLs, so maybe they're close to maxed out in college.

And to me, that Henry guy looked more impressive than him, at least at times.

Henry was healthy, I think Yeldon was dinged up some last yr.

I think Yeldon's first two years are more indicative to what kind of player he is.

@samhnfl24: Don't see why some people are so high on Sean Mannion. It's laughable to rank him ahead of Petty, Hundley and Grayson among others imo..

Who's been high on him? The best anyone has him is a 3rd or 4th rd pick. A few have him in that area and a few others have him as a 5th/6th rd guy. One or two even have him as a UDFA

Yea I agree. NO way I do that if its gonna cost that much...

The reason I brought it up was because I seen Lance Zierlein's latest mock draft and he had Ray sliding to number 21 where the Bengals picked.

I don't think it happens but if he gets there I hope we explore our options to go get him.

One of the Dallas radio stations said just Thursday or Friday that they asked a Cowboys staffer about that very scenario of Ray sliding, and they claimed he laughed and said there was no way Ray would slide far enough for them to have a chance at him.

What about Gregory, though?

@samhnfl24: Fowler is the biggest boom/bust prospect in the draft as far as on the field. So much to love but also so much to scare you off on tape.

That would be interesting. Him and Marcus Peters could definitely be gets for us. The Cowboys already think they're doing a great job with the supports system that they had set up for Dez Bryant.

The Dolphins covet Gurley, multiple sources have told Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, and would love for him to fall to them at No. 14 in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday. But some doubt he will even make it out of the top 10; ESPN draftnik Todd McShay projects him going sixth to the Jets.

@PriscoCBS: Leonard Williams is 20 and has the hands of an NFL veteran. That matters. He can be dominant. You don't pass on that.

It's now been rumored that the Cowboys are the only team that put out the misinformation that Ray would need surgery. Maybe to push him down far enough that they can reasonably jump to get him?

Kind of funny too.... like, considering our history the past 20 years, theres a ton of teams that are all like "Hey, what does Dallas think about the player?????"

Every team has team doctors...they can all evaluate the guy and decide for themselves

So it's happening. He definitely won't be there when we pick. It only takes one ahead of us to take Gordon. Might as well prepare ourselves for our third choice at RB, whoever that is. Or even a later-round guy.

Or a panic trade for Peterson.

Toe injury has draft status of Missouri's Shane Ray up in air

By Mike Huguenin

Missouri edge rusher Shane Ray is dealing with a foot injury similar to turf toe, but at least one orthopedic surgeon believes the injury will not require surgery.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Ray saw a foot specialist, Dr. Aakash Shah in Kansas City, on Thursday and that the doctor's recommendation was that surgery wasn't necessary.

A week away from the start of the NFL Draft, timing of the injury news couldn't be worse for Ray. According to NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein, some teams believe surgery is required, which would sideline him for three to five months. In turn, that could threaten his status as a first-round pick, Zierlein says.

Other teams share Dr. Shah's opinion, believing Ray just needs rest. If that's the case, he would likely be available for post-draft OTAs.

Before the news of the injury leaked this week, Ray was viewed as a first-round lock and likley top-10 pick. With the uncertainty surrounding his status, that is no longer the case.

Ray (6-foot-3, 245 pounds) suffered the injury in Mizzou's Citrus Bowl win over Minnesota on Jan. 1, and it kept him from participating in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. Ray was able to perform on Mizzou's pro day March 19, to mixed results. One team had an issue with the injury during Ray's pre-draft visit; the team felt he was not progressing in his recovery and that the injury needed further testing.

Ray's injury further clouds the edge rusher group; he is the second member of the top tier with a question mark entering the draft. The other is Nebraska's Randy Gregory, who tested positive for marijuana at the combine. The top tier also includes Florida's Dante Fowler, Jr., and Clemson's Vic Beasley.

Teams picking in the top 10 that likely would be interested in an edge rusher are Jacksonville at No. 3, Washington at No. 5, the New York Jets at No. 6, Chicago at No. 7 and Atlanta at No. 8.

The situations with Gregory and Ray potentially could benefit Kentucky's Bud Dupree the most; he seems the most likely edge rusher to move up if a team drops Gregory and/or Ray on its draft board. Virginia's Eli Harold also could be a beneficiary.
