Pretty deep WR draft all the way through. 6 guys with 1st rd grades on NFLDraftscout, another 7 with 2nd rd grades.

If they were looking at him for the reason you state (possible) then he must be rated pretty high on our draft board. Otherwise why not visit with guys who are expected to be available around that time that dont have that baggage.
Because he's way more talented. The guy could be legitimately great. This could be another Dez type situation where you get a megatalent at the bottom of the first.

Is DGB considered a late 1st-2nd rounder? I was thinking he might last longer than that. Any chance he slips to the 3rd?

there's always guys like that every yr it seems...people all the media and fans think are locks to be early picks who then go much later, and on a few occassions dont get drafted at all.

I don't think anyone knows... He's a top-half of the first talent wise, but he has had big issues. Because it only takes one team to take a chance on him, I would be he goes in the first easily.

That's unless all the teams know info on him that is really damning.

I just can't get on board with WR that early. We need some combination of DL/CB/RB 1st two rounds IMO. If he makes it to our 3rd, then I'd be okay with risking it.

Oh, no doubt we shouldn't take him... Unless we plan on letting Dez go.

Which we probably should because of his Bentley and association with rappers. Trollface_for_MY_AND_ONLY_MY_muser_page.png

Yeah, I see him going pretty early, off-field issues be damned. He is a freak talent. But, all of that being said, if he falls to 27 and is BPA I look for a serious trade partner. Trade down and take Ajayi wherever we land.

Bad news on #BoiseState RB Jay Ajayi. Talking to several teams and his Combine re-check did not go well. The knee is a "strong" concern

Contrary to reports, NCAA record-setting RB Jay Ajayi did NOT attend, nor was he asked to attend, the NFL Combine medical re-check.

FYI - #BoiseState RB Jay Ajayi was dinged for his knee from re-check on visits, not Combine re-check. Point stands, "strong" concerns there

Also, without quoting them all, he says Ajayi can play fine now, it's a longevity problem. Wonder if he's had a scope or two that removed cartilage.

Also confirmed Gurley's re-checks look just fine and he should/could go mid-first.

Ajayi is ok and would probably do well here, but I like a lot of the other RB's more than him.

Really like Tevin Coleman a lot.

Still think TJ Yeldon will make a really solid pro, and while not many talk about him (other than maybe CMD) I think USC's Javorious Allen will end up being a really good, solid dependable RB.

Don't believe this is the complete list:

2015 NFL Draft: Dallas meetings include 6 RBs, 11 DE/OLBs

While there is a debate whether pre-draft team visitations are meaningless and possibly even a diversion, let's divert our meaningless attention toward the Dallas Cowboys' recent guest list as they ready for the April 30 NFL Draft in Chicago.

In an unofficial list of selected meetings -- involving either a player's personal visit to the team or a private workout at the player's campus -- NFLDraftScout.com shows that the Cowboys are targeting their needs by seeing six running backs and 11 defensive ends/outside linebackers.

This ignores the conspiracy theory that insists the sole goal of these meetings is to confuse others regarding the team's intent in the draft. If that is true, then teams are spending a lot of time and money for nothing.

So we will just list them -- you be the judge.

The NFL allows teams to host up to 30 official pre-draft visits, but players considered local are not counted as a visit. The term local is loosely based on the player's college or if he happen to live in the area. The private workouts are not counted the official visit list.

In what seems to be feeding their prime need, the Cowboys had personal visits or workouts with six running back prospects, including Georgia's Todd Gurley and Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon, although none of them was asked to work out.

In two other areas of need, Dallas met with 11 defensive ends or linebackers -- of which three worked out -- and 11 defensive backs, including two workouts.

In this unofficial head count, the Cowboys personally contacted nine other draft prospects, including four offensive lineman and three quarterbacks.
These ongoing get-togethers are not the only time that coaches and scouts get face time with prospects. Teams also visit players at all-star games, the combine, and during pro days. But it seems more important and intimate when a player is asked to visit a team's home base, whether it's just for a talk or a full workout.
Take a closer look at this unofficial list of Cowboys' meetings and perhaps there is a clue to which player or players they may draft.

In list of visits, PV=private visit; LOC=local prospect; WO=workout.

DALLAS TEAM NEEDS
--1. Running back: The departure of DeMarco Murray has the Cowboys in need of a replacement. They will likely consider larger roles for those already on the roster, with the draft also being strongly considered. Darren McFadden was signed, but that's not likely the last move.

Running back visits: 6, no workouts
--Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia (PV)
--Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (PV)
--Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska (PV)
--Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State (LOC)
--Javorius Allen, RB, USC (PV)
--Tevin Coleman, RB, Indiana (PV)

--2. Defensive end: The Cowboys must find a way to affect the quarterback. They need an edge rusher. Jeremy Mincey led them with six sacks last year. That was not good enough. Defensive end Anthony Spencer is a free agent and George Selvie signed with the Giants. The Cowboys may bring one back. They will most definitely address the position in the draft, probably with the 27th overall pick. Greg Hardy was signed, but it's still unknown whether he will be suspended by the NFL.

Defensive end/OLB visits: 11, including three who worked out.
--Shaq Thompson, OLB, Washington (WO, PV)
--Alvin Dupree, OLB/DE, Kentucky (PV)
--Frank Clark, DE, Michigan (PV)
--Eli Harold, OLB/DE, Virginia (PV)
--Mario Edwards Jr., DE/DT, Florida State (WO, PV)
--Eric Kendricks, OLB/ILB, UCLA (WO, PV)
--Danielle Hunter, DE, LSU (PV)
--Gabe Martin, OLB, Bowling Green (PV)
--Benardrick McKinney, OLB/ILB, Mississippi State (PV)
--Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA (PV)
-- Darius Allen, OLB, Colorado State,Pueblo (WO)

--3. Cornerback: The Cowboys have a lot of uncertainty at cornerback where Orlando Scandrick is the only sure thing for 2015. Brandon Carr will be asked to take a pay cut and will be cut if he balks. Morris Claiborne finished 2014 on injured reserve with a torn patella tendon and may not be ready for the start of the season.

Defensive back visits: 11, 1 workout.
--Jalen Collins, CB, LSU (PV)
--P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State (PV)
--Ronald Darby, CB, Florida State (PV)
--Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest (PV)
--Byron Jones, CB/S, Connecticut (PV)
--Tray Walker, CB, Texas Southern (PV)
--Quinten Rollins, CB, Miami (Ohio) (WO)
--Josh Shaw, DB, USC (WO)
--JaCorey Shepherd, CB, Kansas (LOC)
--Chris Hackett, SS, TCU (LOC)
--Kevin White, CB, TCU (LOC)

OTHER VISITS: 16 visits including 5 workouts; 5 workouts only.
--Chris Conley, WR, Georgia (WO)
--Laurence Gibson, OT, Virginia Tech (PV)
--Chaz Green, OT, Florida (WO, PV)
--David Irving, DT, Iowa State (WO)
--Hutson Mason, QB, Georgia (WO)
--Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (WO)
--Ian Silberman, OT, Boston College (PV)
--George Farmer, WR, USC (PV)
--Mark Nzeocha, LB, Wyoming (PV)
--Jeremiah Poutasi, OT/G, Utah (PV)
