@DraftCountdown

It flew under the radar a bit but #Arkansas OG Alvin Bailey has declared for the 2013 NFL Draft. Underrated prospect with Top 100 potential.

he was on my mock list...will probably stay there throughout the draft season too

In an interview with the Knoxville News Sentinel, Tennessee head coach Butch Jones revealed that junior wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is “definitely going to the NFL” based on his discussions with the star receiver. Patterson has yet to confirm or deny Jones' comments.

Matt Elam and Sharrif Floyd rumored to be declaring.

Rutger's Logan Ryan declares.

As does USC's Robert Woods (sounds like a dick) and Nickell Robey.

Michigan State's LaVeon Bell rumored to declare.

Anthony Barr will return to UCLA

Updated: December 31, 2012, 8:34 PM ET
By Kevin Gemmell | ESPN.com

UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr, a potential first-round draft pick, has decided to put off the NFL for another season and return with the Bruins for his senior year.

After switching from running back to outside linebacker this past year in UCLA's 3-4 scheme under new head coach Jim Mora, Barr flourished in the role and was one of the premier defensive players in the country in 2012.

He was a first-team selection to the All-Pac-12 team while compiling 13.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss -- which ranked in the top 10 nationally for both categories before the start of the bowl season.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. had Barr at No. 10 on his Big Board.

"I have carefully explored my options and have decided to continue my football career with UCLA," Barr said in a statement released through the school Monday. "I felt a strong connection with my teammates and coaches that I do not want to see end. I will continue to pursue my degree and take part in the team drills after the holidays. The time will come soon enough to live my dream of playing at the next level."

Barr was also an honorable mention to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. He was named a second-team All-American by numerous outlets.

"Anthony considered his options and we are glad he has chosen to stay with his teammates to continue the mission to move Bruin football forward in the new year," Mora said in the same statement.

UCLA wrapped up a 9-5 season in Mora's first year as the Bruins head coach and a 6-3 mark in the Pac-12. The Bruins won the Pac-12 South but ended the season on a three-game skid. They fell in back-to-back games against Stanford -- including the Pac-12 championship game -- and they were blown out by Baylor 49-26 in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl last week

Following their 33-23 loss to the Louisville Cardinals in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night, Florida junior safety Matt Elam and junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd announced their intentions to declare for the NFL draft.

Elam was named a first-team All-American for Florida this season. He racked up 65 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, four interceptions, a sack and a forced fumble.

Floyd was named a first-team All-Southeastern Conference player in 2012. Floyd compiled 41 tackles, with 11 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and six quarterback hits.

Both are possible late first-round picks and considered to be Top 50 prospects in the upcoming draft.

I'm underwhelmed.

Look at our current defensive linemen.

Now look again.

Still underwhelmed?

We have been scouting d-linemen heavy so I'm looking forward to adding younger, faster, and hopefully much more active players.

Safety Reid to Forgo Senior Season

by Michael Bonnette (@LSUBonnette), Associate Athletic Director/SID

BATON ROUGE - LSU safety Eric Reid will forgo his final season of eligibility and will make himself available for the 2013 NFL Draft, the junior announced on Friday.

Reid, a first-team All-America selection in 2012, joins linebacker Kevin Minter as LSU's early NFL entries thus far.

In three years with the Tigers, Reid played on teams that won 10 or more games all three years, including last year's 13-1 squad that captured the Southeastern Conference title and reached the BCS National Championship Game. Reid's three-year record at LSU was 34-6.

"I've been very fortunate and blessed to have been able to play football at LSU," Reid said. "It was always my dream to go to LSU and play football.

"I want to thank Coach (Les) Miles and all of the people that played a role to get me to this point in my life. This was a very difficult decision because I always wanted to be a Tiger and I love LSU. But, after careful consideration and talking with my family, I feel like this is the right time to make this decision. I will always be a LSU Tiger."

In his final season with the Tigers in 2012, Reid started all 13 games and finished third on the team in tackles with 91. He had seven pass breakups, two pass interceptions, one tackle for loss and recovered a fumble for an LSU defense that ranked among the best in the nation.

Reid earned was a consensus All-America in 2012 after earning first-team All-America honors from the Football Writers Association of America and the American Football Coaches Association. He was also a first-team All-Southeastern Conference pick from both the media and the SEC Coaches.

Reid continued a trend of outstanding defensive backs at LSU as the school has now produced six first-team All-American defensive backs under Les Miles, including four over the past three years.

For his career, Reid played in 39 games, starting 29 times. He finished with 194 career tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and six interceptions.

Reid was named one of five permanent team captains for LSU in 2012.

Reid said that he is two semesters shy of graduating and that he will continue to pursue his degree during the offseason.
