Absolutely.
It's not even about running and passing.......numbers solely.
It's about knowing when to run and knowing when to pass. If you're playing an offense that can score in a moments notice, how about you keep the clock moving until you made your way to somewhere close to midfield.
They literally gave New Orleans a ton of time and didn't force a single timeout. Way to go. That's just how you lost the Lions game.
You get 8 on first down. Run from the shotgun (like you did on the lone TD) and you're going to get those 2 yards. You also reset the chains and you don't hardly use any time doing it.
If the clock is already moving.....you only eat maybe 10 seconds by trying to sneak a run in there. If it's successful you get a new set of downs but if it's not at least you can force New Orleans to use a timeout.
