The offensive tackles lifted 225 pounds in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine Friday, Feb. 22. Virginia Tech OT Vince Painter posted 32 reps, Akransas Pine-Bluff OT Terron Armstead and Asuza-Pacific OT Luke Marquardt posted 31 reps, and Cornell OT JC Tretter managed 29 reps. Chadron State OT Garrett Gilkey, Colorado OT David Bakhtiari and Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson totaled 28 reps, while Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher hoisted the weight 27 times. West Texas A&M OT Manase Foketi and San Jose State OT David Quessenberry checked in with 25 reps, while Southern Miss OT Jason Weaver had 23 reps. Glenville State OT Mark X. Jackson and Wisconsin OT Ricky Wagner totaled 20 reps, while Alabama A&M OT Jamaal Johnson-Webb finished with 17 reps.

Youngstown State OG Lamar Mady also hoisted the weight 35 times, while North Carolina State OG Zach Allen managed 32 reps, and Nevada OG Chris Barker had a total of 29 reps. Kentucky OG Larry Warford posted 28 reps, while Valdosta State OG Edmund Kugbila totaled 23 reps.

NFL | Brian Winters cannot finish bench press

Kent State OG Brian Winters (pectoral) was unable to complete the 225-pound bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine Friday, Feb. 22, due to discomfort in his left pectoral muscle. He finished with just nine reps. "I had to stop because I cramped on my pec right here (pointing to his left pectoral muscle)," Winters said. "So I'm going to re-do it at pro day. I'm fine." Kent State's Pro Day is scheduled for March 6.
