Jerry has also said costa can be a good center if he had a stud G next to him.

Maybe the team sees Fred as a stud G.....

The offense as a whole was terrible and has been for a while. Piling up garbage yards without points is useless and even worse, not being able to make critical first downs or eat up the Time of Possession because the offense has not developed a run game (beyond "when we throw it long, it opens run lanes underneath"). The terrible part is all of the randomness. The Wait and See what the defense does - does not dictate or control anything. The first quarter has so much experimentation going on trying to test to see what the defense is doing that Dallas doesn't get much opportunity to score.

But all that being said, it is hard to argue that the team cannot pass the ball well. 40 times a game average for close to 300 per game. Romo and Witten bail them out constantly so its not like these passing plays are brilliant designs. And for a non WCO (I.e. Walsh's short pass for YAC), Dez and Miles had one third of their total yards after the catch. Miles only had 600 yard of pure receiving and Dez had around 400 yards after the catch. That is not an unstoppable offense and becomes a tenuous relaince to make effective gains much less score points.

One part of the passing game is great, but it disappears behind the rest of the underdeveloped and unused portions of the offense.

I don't see us doing anything beyond 8-8, and if we do... we won't make the playoffs. Then Garrett will be gone. He's been running this offense for 6 years, and this is what he's accomplished.

STRENGTHS Versatile defender with a strong overall build. Plays over the tight end, in the slot, in the stack. Long, thick arms make him a secure tackler once latching on, brings pop to his stops whether in the open field or backfield. Moves well laterally. Takes on blocks in the open field extremely well. Locks out arms, and anchors in. Showcases violent hands in ripping off blocks. Stands his ground, or lowers a shoulder against pulling guards and tight end blocks on the edge, providing containment. Offers strength and speed as a blitzer. Former safety shows some agility to stay with tight ends and some receivers off the line. Shows some hustle across the field and chasing plays from behind. Take advantage of poor throws to secure interceptions with his hands, looking the ball
in even if it’s away from his frame.

WEAKNESSES Average fluidity and flexibility, often lunges for tackles. Will need to prove straight-line speed, seems to lack the ability to recover or track down faster ballcarriers from behind. Could be more physical knocking receivers off their routes off the line, and has the strength to do so.

NFL COMPARISON Chad Greenway

BOTTOM LINE After starting 14 games at strong safety in his first three seasons, Holloman moved to the “Spur” hybrid position for 2012, showing off his ability to lay the wood and move in coverage. If teams he can show well on special teams and hold his own against NFL linemen against the run, Holloman could be a solid Saturday draft pick as a Sam 'backer, and a likely candidate to outplay his draft position.

South Carolina linebacker. Decent.

We just don't know how to address our issues/weaknesses. I'm sorry if that hurts anyones feelings. We drafted 1 total lineman (offense or defense). We added some talented kids this weekend but we will continue to struggle for the exact same reasons we have the past few years. Romo is asked to do too much with a suspect line. Our defensive line can't make crucial stops or provide consistent pressure.

eh, he's alright, I guess. The CBSSportsline write-up on him wasn't too positive. Said he may find a niche in the NFL as a key special teamer.
