14 Cowboys on injury report.

IRVING, Texas -- The first official injury report was released Sunday afternoon, and the Cowboys have 14 players listed.

There was one surprise with running back DeMarco Murray listed with a wrist issue. He was a full practice participant, and it doesn't seem serious.

Tight end Jason Witten (spleen), linebacker Kyle Wilber (thumb) wide receiver Andre Holmes (knee), linebacker Dan Connor (hip) and cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder) were limited in practice.

Nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ankle) and safeties Matt Johnson (hamstring) and Danny McCray (neck) did not practice.

Running back Phillip Tanner (hamstring), linebacker DeMarcus Ware (hamstring), wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), wide receiver Dez Bryant (knee) and center Phil Costa (back) are also listed on the injury report but were full participants in practice.

Hakeem Nicks vows to play on Wednesday

Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks recently said that he was anticipating playing with some pain in Wednesday’s game against the Cowboys.

On Sunday, he decided against practicing with it. Nicks didn’t practice with the rest of the Giants on Sunday in what looks like a precautionary measure designed to assure Nicks is good to go against the Cowboyw. While coach Tom Coughlin said that Nicks was “sore,” he also said he expected him to practice Monday and gave no indication that Nicks’ status for the opener was in doubt.

Nicks has no doubts either.

“I’m playing,” Nicks said, via Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “You don’t have to ask me the question. I’m playing.”

It was another good day health-wise for the Giants as tackle Will Beatty and linebacker Michael Boley both continued to feel no pain after long layoffs. They also got defensive tackle Marvin Austin back on the field in pads. Austin has been dealing with a back injury for quite a while and his return would bolster a spot that’s been weakened by injuries for the Giants this summer.

I want to win every game, naturally. But I haven't wanted to win a season opener this much in a really, really long time.

I want this game bad.

Are you gonna be like this all year? Columnists playing to their readership is nothing new. There's no reason for them to respect Dallas.

nope. Its a ny thing. I hate the way they go about it and help out the team up there.

bigger question, are you going to be this way all year? Unfortunately we all know the answer to that.

Do you want the Dallas media to lower themselves by becoming mindless cheerleaders? You're an interloper when you visit the NY media sites. Those articles aren't meant for you.

Yes, like every year, I refuse to blame the eeeeeevil media for the team's myriad shortcomings.

who is blaming the media for anything. I am simply pointing out the narrative the ny writers take is completely off, every article has some sort of made up nonsense portraying dallas as something they are not.

that gary myers article claims that coughlin story about the tickets was true....when in fact Rick Gosselin said different on august 26 2008, and gosselin hates jerry more than anyone i have ever listened to....more than you.

its this kind of things that irritate me....other markets do not cater to the head coach this way.

Remember 1992? We played the defending super bowl champs in the season opener (albeit at home, when the league actually knew what a Dallas "home opener" meant) but the team spent a ton of offseason resources that year retooling an average defense from the previous season...that seasons OL also got juggled up a little from the previous season

Or better yet, lets hope for a repeat of the 1995 season opener at NYG. They were supposed to be ready to overtake us and instead, we kicked the living shit out of them in their place. Maybe Demarco Murray can go Emmitt Smith on them on the first play:

I loved the little wave Emmitt did at the end, lol.

All the media stuff, i don’t really care. I just would like a team i could be proud of again like those 90’s team. If the Cowboys lose to the Giants Wednesday that would be like “here we go again, nothing has changed”.

Not only that, but the team has to overcome an owner doing dumb shit like talking trash about a team that lives off bulletin material. And when he isn’t motivating the other team, he is rapping for Papa Johns.
