so far, looks like a game you get from two teams that didnt belong in the championship games to begin with

Kind of makes one wonder as to how it was possibly rigged for both of these teams to be here. I mean it's the 10th anniversary of 9/11, and the Patriots were the first team post 9/11 to win the Super Bowl---patriotism was the theme, then you have a team (Giants) that is repping the affected city, add to that a rematch between the two teams... guess the powers-that-be thought that would make a better storyline than the two Harbaugh brothers.

Doing back-flips has nothing to do with linear flexibility. And besides, the edge the 3-4 OLB has to cross is much wider than a 4-3 DE's. Plus a 4-3 DE already has more of a leverage advantage coming up from a 3-point stance as opposed to standing up.

JPP's talents would be minimalized at OLB in a 3-4.

But it has everything to do with athleticism and body control. And the 3-4 has the advanatage of coming from a bit further distance which allows him to build up momentum and is able to adjust more readily.

The splits that a 3-4 OLB and a 4-3 DE take are identical. Some 4-3 DE's like Jared Allen and Jason Babin take incredibly wide splits. Sometimes 4-3 DE Julius Peppers stands up before pass-rushing and sometimes Ware puts his hand in the ground.

As far as leverage advantage that would come from one's individual athleticism. Ware can dip and get under people while Peppers can explode up while maintaining his balance. The 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB are pretty identical positions and the elite players can play in either scheme.

By the way, all 4 of our OLB's...Ware, Spencer, Butler, and Albright...were 4-3 DE's in college.

Most OLBs were 4-3 DEs in college.

I still wouldn't put JPP at 3-4 OLB and I'd still switch our D to a 4-3.

Great sequence.

Giants burn two time outs in one drive. Get no points. Lose another tight end, who probably more seriously injured the knee trying to get back in.

Now, just need the Patriots to eat clock and get a TD here.
