I can't believe we've lost three straight to the Cardinals...all in fiction-novel-style.

Is that what you saw?

Are we talking about the long Dez punt return at the end of the game?

Yes... that's what I saw.

Scandrick was in a trail position right before the defender, the defender stopped in his tracks as Dez ran by him... there wasn't anything Scandrick could do but run into him.

It wasn't a block in the back.

That's the play I'm talking about.

I didn't see that. I saw a player throw his hands in the air and act innocent as he ran up the defenders ass.

He thought it would work the second time he tried it.

He's very slick.

If I'm DeCamillis, I'm coaching my guys to get in front of the defender just slightly, and then stop. Let him run into me, and take the 10 yard penalty every time.

BS call.

It's nice that a play like that can almost decide the game, but romo gets sacked by the face mask in fronton three defenders and no flag...that was huge. Jay ratliff on the second to last drive was tackled on his way to sacking kolb, no flag they would have been third and forever inside the ten.....no flag.

And for what it's worth the giants got robbed today, they sacked Rogers on a third down that was negated by an extremely Ticky tack illegal contact.....few plays later the packers scored.....giants are coming in here with a full head of steam and we don't look like a good matchup at all.

We need Austin back desperately. ONe of our biggest flaws right now is that our wr have no idea what they are doing, they are not mentally sound. Austin will correct this and in turn free up witten a little.

Which is even stupider...don't be right behind the freakin defender. At least trail either to the left or the right.

Allow Dez Bryant to read that positioning and run towards a block.

I don't agree with you two on the Scandrick penalty (2nd one).

There's a lot more... a fucking lot more about this loss that pisses me off.

But I'm too pissed to argue.

Nfl network shows joe decammilis telling garret to call a timeout before kick

I dont' doubt DeCammilis told him to call it.

But to me, it looked like garrett was watching the ref, walking up to him slowly, and called the TO at the last second as if he were icing an opposing kicker.

... as opposed to turning to the ref and calling it right when No Neck told him we needed it.

The broadcast showed it too.

I'm sure everyone has an opinion on why Garrett called it, but I see no excuse for it.

Garrett should have known how much time was on the clock and wether or not his kicker had enough time. He should need to depend on a special teams coach to know these things.

Decammilis should stfu and let the grown-ups that can actually turn their heads to look at the play clock, make those types of calls.

Could Decammilis have thought they had the wrong personal or alignment wrong? If they had enough time on the clock than i don’t think that was the issue. Need more info on this one. Maybe Bailey wanted a practice shot?

Jason Garrett explains Cowboys' clock management crisis

By Tim MacMahon
GLENDALE, Ariz. – What the heck happened with the Cowboys’ clock management at the end of regulation?

The Cowboys had two timeouts remaining when Dez Bryant caught a pass for a first down at the Arizona 31-yard line with 26 seconds remaining. They kept one timeout in their pocket. Head coach Jason Garrett essentially iced his own kicker by using the other with seven seconds remaining.

Garrett said that he wanted to make sure that the Cowboys’ field goal unit was settled before Dan Bailey’s potential game-winning 49-yard attempt. He was concerned that the play clock was running down. That explains why he called that timeout.

Why didn’t he call a timeout to try to run at least another play or two? That was the burning question after Bailey missed and the Cardinals beat the Cowboys in overtime?

“We very well could have taken a timeout there,” Garrett said. “We felt like we were in field goal range. We have yard lines that we use as guidelines before the game. We felt like we were in range at that point. Tony [Romo] had them on the line of scrimmage quickly, so we went ahead and clocked it and used that as a timeout. …

“You see so many situations where you have negative plays in those situations. We felt like we were in his range to give him a chance to kick the game-winner.”

Owner/general manager Jerry Jones, who criticized Garrett for conservative play-calling after a close loss to the Patriots in October, refrained from offering his opinion on the clock management at the end of this game.

“My understanding is, the explanation I got is it was to let time run off the clock,” Jones said. “I’m not going to agree or disagree right here. But the point is it was to let time run off the clock.”

To settle for a 49-yard field goal attempt by a rookie kicker?!

“Just a minute, I’m just telling you what my understanding is,” Jones said with a sense of agitiation.

“Well, we felt pretty good about where we were,” Garrett said. “Once you get to that 30-yard line we felt like that was a pretty good opportunity for us.”

It actually was good enough on Bailey’s attempt from 49. Too bad that one didn’t count because of the timeout that Garrett called.

Well no shit, we could have.

On the LOS quickly? We ran 18 seconds off the clock after Dez's catch, which was 15-20 yards. That's quickly? shit.

The momentum of the NFC east just swung towards ny because our own head coach negated a made field goal.

Romo has not beat the giants at home yet in the new stadium, hopefully he can overcome the guys on the sideline and get it done, otherwise this is going to look a lot like 08.

Side note, Tony sporano's team thumped the raiders today. Leaders of men are hard to come by, sporano is that. I pray he ends up here next year.

It was insane. We needed at least five more yards. We had enough time and timeouts to at least run the ball at once at the least. I wouldn't have thrown it but I would have at least tried to run the ball.

And this is in a game where they already botched a similar sequence in the first qtr. That whole 4th and 1 was a mess from Garrett.

Had coughlin, Reid or whoever done this we would be laughing our balls off. This was Jim zorn esque bad..

No momentum swung anywhere, both teams lost. The “leader of men” has the 21st offense on a 5-8 team. LOL

It's okay though, because there was thought and consideration put into taking or not taking those timeouts. Ultimately x=y over N divided by that red headed stupid fuck.
