anyone hear that Nagy is done for the year?

I wonder if the Dolphins would be interested in trading John Jerry.

Starting Guard Nagy Breaks Ankle
Posted by rphillips at 10/16/2011 7:27 PM CDT on dallascowboys.com

FOXBORO, MASS. -- The Cowboys have now lost two starting guards in the past four games, the latest being rookie Bill Nagy, who left Gillette Stadium with a cast and crutches Sunday for what he called a broken right ankle.

Team owner/general manager Jerry Jones told reporters that Nagy would likely miss the rest of the season.

Nagy, a seventh-round draft pick, won the left guard job in preseason and started four of the first five games. Veteran Derrick Dockery sprained his knee and broke his fibula in his lone start over Nagy in Week 2.

Nagy said he wasn't sure exactly how he got injured in the second half against New England, only that he apparently got his ankle rolled up while blocking. Rookie Kevin Kowalski replaced him in the starting lineup.

"I can't imagine. It's a tough thing for him," Kowalski said of Nagy. "The kid works hard."

Kowalski is also the primary backup for center Phil Costa, but he played some guard in college and has taken guard reps recently in practice.

With Dockery still out, the Cowboys may have to look for some veteran help, and rookie David Arkin could become active on game days going forward.

The positive side to this loss is we lost to another AFC team. We only have one in conference loss.

There's still time to turn this thing around. We can beat the Rams and I believe we have a chance in Philly. Seattle at home should be another win.

I truly believe we can win the next three games. The Eagles game will be the toughest task.

Problem I have with all this is that we couldn't beat a team we had 2 weeks to game-plan for and we were the healthiest we have been all year. I mean the defense is play GREAT and the Offense is pretty spectacular "At times"...BUT Coaching/offense failure/ineptitude that kept us out of a win today. Its looking like our strong point is the Defense and the coaching they get but that wont win that many games. Our offense and OC need to get all the stupid stuff cleaned up. You would have thought that the 2 weeks they had to prepare they would have tidied up some of the fundamentals that they were constantly screwing up ie not getting the plays called in time or bad redzone calls. Hell I guess they just worked on shotgun snaps on Offense and Rob coached the shit out of his guys for 2 weeks?

My optimism is almost completely gone now...

Yup. The defense can't stop them every series. The offense needs to do something. Our defense isn't the problem.

Jason needs to accept the responsibility of how this offense is playing. Horrible Oline play, and penalties killed us.

This loss is on the offense. Dropped passes, poor run blocking, and lack of game management. If you can't run the ball you can't win in this league. I will say this though DeMarco Murray is a better option for us right now. He at least made something out of nothing. This Oline is terrible.

I'd start Murray against the Rams. Felix is banged up a bit and Tashit Choice sucks.

I'll save you the trouble. What killed us was the second to last series with 3:36 left in the game and we are sitting on a 3 point lead. But somehow, Garrett thinks that by running the ball---like we are going to get first downs, that is going to eat up the clock, especially when the Patriots have 2 timeouts left---and they didn't need them. And we didn't even eat up a minute.

Gee Garrett if you would have simply worked the middle opf the field and just moved the chains and got first downs---MIX IT UP, then your plan would have worked. But no! With one of the worst running games, you decided to run it twice AND THEN pass on an obvious passing down, try a stupid shovel pass---you might have just as well run it.

I'M DONE.

Romo and Garrett are made for one another.

Giants are going to win the division. That's aweful.

You think so? They still have the Packers, Saints, Pats, Jets, and much of the division left. The Pats was really the last hard team we had left on our schedule.

We have to close this thing at 5-3.

Move fucking Costa to Guard and put Kowalski at Center.

I'm not saying this for internet props but some of us have said this from the off-season on. You can't trot out random scrubs at Guard and Center and then wonder what went wrong. Why didn't Jerry and/or Jason see this 2 months ago?

I need to find a new guy for my sig, we be needing linemen

True story:

When my wife's best friend was 4 years old or so, she was taking a bath and had some weeble-wobbles in the tub with her. She slipped and fell and yeah, one of those damned weebles went straight up her poop chute. She had to go to the emergency room to get it removed.

Why do I bare my soul like this? Well, it prophesied two things:

1. That my wife's friend would grow up to be a super-slut. I know this personally. Meeeow.
2. That there's no way in hell the Cowboys go to Gillette and escape with a win.

Pats in a nail-biter 38-17.

sure....she slipped

Really? I'm shocked that you guys expected to win this game in the first place. I'd had this one as a likely loss all along, and would have been pleasantly surprised if we'd taken it.

LSU is just destroying Auburn.

It's a shame the National Championship game won't end up being between LSU and Alabama.... they're far and away the best teams in the NCAA.

If we can't win this game with ease, these players should be ashamed of theirselves.
