Ok I see what you meant. Free is one of the more athletic guys at tackle which helps him battle athletic, speedy blindside pass-rushers. So as he gets older and starts to lose some of that athleticism, a move to the rightside might be beneficial.

Point to an instance where that has ever happened where a team switched their tackles around?

I do take comfort in the fact that now we probably have the most athletic tackle tandem in the NFL and that Jason Garrett's O puts a premium on movement there. The running game is almost complementary.

I'll think of some more but look at Flozell. He was DONE at left tackle but was serviceable at right tackle for the Steelers.
