Yeah, so much for the Saints scoring the most points for me in pro pick'em, oh, well.

My thoughts on the game . . .

  • The pre-game ceremony was garbage. The marching band was okay . . . but Harry Conick Jr sounded like shit and couldn't figure out when he was supposed to sing or not. The banner presentation looked uncoordinated. And Colby whatever butchered the shat out of the National Anthem.
  • Loved hearing that Brett Farve told Colingsworth that when he pulled up to the stadium, he had to ask himself "What am I doing here?" You just know that if the Vikings don't start off hot, he's going to quit on that team. You can't half-ass being a QB in the NFL, and you can't be successful if you're not 100% all in it. All signs have pointed to him not being in it. Opening game against the team that busted you in the NFC Championship, and you have to ask yourself "what am I doing here?" lol
  • Sean Payton has aged considerably since he was here. WTF was wrong with the skin around his eyes?
  • I loved seeing Percy Harvin getting lit up a few times, and him playing really like crap last night. I have a friend who played with Percy in high school and he suggested that Percy wasn't near as bad off as he made himself out to be this past year, but rather that Percy was avoiding training camp. This guy stated that Percy absolutely hates practice.
  • Brett looked missed all of training camp with his offense.
  • Either the Vikings defense played well, or the Saints offense was off. Hard to tell. Saints did drop some catchable balls - at least 4 that I remember, including a touchdown. Of course, it doesn't help the offense when the playcalling is so one-sided.
  • If you're a Saints fan . . . you worried about Garrett Hartley? Those misses were not even close.

Who do you all want to win the Green Bay vs Phildelphia game?

While I think Green Bay will give us the biggest fight for a home playoff game . . . I have to hope they pull off a win and give the Eagles a loss (and an important NFC loss).

Plus . . . the manner in which they lose might be an indication of how strong a team they are.

Conversely, if the Eagles win . . . I might have to re-evaluate how strong a team they're going to be this year.

I think Green Bay wins, but I also feel the Eagles have a good team still.

They will struggle a little defensively this year.

Philly has some decent talent,albeit younger guys.

I really think the Pack is ready to make some noise,and this game gets it started.

That's how a lot of people see it.

I think we're clearly the best two teams in the NFC.

Wouldn't suprise me if San Fran got a playoff bye, though . . . they have a ridiculously easy schedule.

I have an idea about who I want to start the game thread for tomorrow night, I'm convinced that person is good luck, not sure if he'll step up and do it though.

I can see it now. Loud crowd, hostile environment, offensive line folding and we can't convert short yardage time after time, Joe Fans ripping Garrett for not calling plays that don't require blocking, McBriar punts.

What pre game shows are you guys watching?

I'm watching ESPN right now, but I also like the NFL Network.

I keep switching every ten minutes or so.

I think Pete Carroll is going to get a wake up call coaching in the NFL.
