I can. not. stand. when someone drags out and bastardizes the anthem.

She should be beaten off the field.

Completely agree.. that was by far the worst rendition of the anthem i've ever heard. The one that should be beaten is the one who decided she would be the best person to do the anthem. She's just fucking awful. She's not even relevant anymore.

I'd rather a singer build up to the big finish on the last line...trying to outsing the last word of every line gets irritating.

An aesthetic thing, but it bothers me that you can still see the midfield stripe under the NFL logo. Can't you spare enough paint to cover it?

...and anyone thinking Hines Ward is a HOF WR is an idiot. But some believe a big game tonight will solidify his candidacy.

Why not? Lynn Swann made the HOF. I mean I agree with you. I don't think that Ward is a HOF WR, and neither was Swann, but if you're going to let Swann in, why6 not Hines? But for only because they are multiple Super Bowl-winning STEELERS, then that right there is automatic.

I missed it. Who sang the anthem?

NFL Films put Lynn Swann in. Without the replay of those three SB catches over and over and over again, nobody would remember Lynn Swann.

Hines Ward - can you even remember one signature play?

Don't know about Stallworth, though.

That's my point. But hey, Joe Namath gets in because he wore a fur coat on the sidelines and guaranteed a victory in the Super Bowl over the Colts.

Pretty much...I've heard on several occasions that a major criteria is - can you tell the history of the NFL without this player?

...and I tend to agree with that. Joe Namath was essentially the nation's first superstar with mass appeal to non-NFL fans and brought legitimacy to the AFL teams.
