But that's not going to happen. We need to surround Dak with players who can help him. Players who can break tackles, make a hard catch, etc. All QBs need that. Dak, maybe more than most "top QBs."
No player is going to help him make better decisions, and keep him from panicking when playing from behind.
Just read we lost Edoga. But we signed Javonte Williams. Never heard of him. I guess we don't need Jeanty now ;-).
Averaged 4.3-4.4 ypc before tearing up his knee, 3.6-3.7 since. Not the workhorse I'd like, underwhelming signing for me.

I'd throw Dak in the same trade and just do a Russell Wilson with him. Trade partner pays him veteran minimum while we pay him to play for them. We'll have him off the books in a couple of years. Anything to make Parsons irresistible.
Nobody is trading for Prescott

This was painfully stupid.

This wasnt break the bank money at all and he was a young player on the rise. He played relatively well last yr and got better as the season wore on. At times he was one of our better defensive players on the field. He also had real position-flex, being able to play almost any position up front.

The Cowboys mediocre roster got even worse yesterday, and the only moves they made were to resign the deep snapper (honestly the best move they made, he's actually good) and two camp fodder back up guys. Meanwhile other teams were being aggressive and at least TRYING to improve.

This is the worst front office in sports and it's not even close.

It's for people who follow it closer than I do, but what is the point of making a contract in which the player is supposed to get 60 million when you know you can't pay that, only to put an automatic clause in it?

Why not just make the contract that way in the first place? What would be the strategy behind that?
I'm assuming its because teams know and expect the salary cap to increase every yr, so it behooves teams to pay large amounts of total dollars but leave the flexibility to convert salary to signing bonus type money so you can prorate it out further. I'm not 100% sure but I think agents are paid off what the total dollars of a contract are for the player, so even if it's "funny money" they get their % of it.

Ultimately the Jones' completely fucked the franchise for years by paying Prescott last yr.

Teams around the league are running circles around us in terms of roster improvement, but hey at least we have this.

They supposedly had prioritized keeping Jourdan Lewis, who left for big bucks.

Diggs probably wont play this season and even if he does will likely be a shell of his former self. We have Bland and last yrs 5th rd pick Caelen Carson as healthy CB options, along with a bunch of yuck.

New RB highlights. Nothing flashy with him. No long speed and not a cut on a dime type gut, but he runs hard and breaks some tackles, seems to be a good receiver.

Probably not an improvement over Dowdle and certainly isnt a lock to make the team.

They will probably want similar if not better deals than JL just got from the Jags.

How about Darius Slay on a one-year deal? 34 now but still looked decent last season. And as a release by the Eagles he won't count against us in the comp picks.

Thomas is 6'3, just under 300lbs. Primarily a 3T DT. Had 8 1/2 sacks the last two seasons playing for our new DL coach while with Jets. Former Niners 1st rd pick.

Seems like a lot for a guy who's been primarily a gadget player and return ace only.Maybe they really will use him more on offense now.
