The newest outrage I'm hearing about is over a 60 minute episode where a program cancelled where youths (notiably black and hispanic) would have an opportunity to play with the Marine Band, below is a clip:

I received these texts from someone who watched this episode:

Wow, what shitty talent from young cooked people seemed so from a man who wears makeup so his skin isn’t its natural color. Makes perfect sense. Expecting to see the NFL and NBA become all white next.

Here is my response (aside from the absurdity of the NFL/NBA conclusions which only got an "lol" from me),

Does it ever arouse your curiosity, even a fleeting second, why the media gives almost zero attention to our crippling debt and the myriad of wasteful programs but if a hair falls off a gnats ass of some governmental program thats been cancelled which pulls on heart strings, they’ll work overtime to outrage the country & convince people the world is coming to an end while throwing in racist accusations for icing on this inflammatory cake?

As I’ve said repeatedly, you cant cut 36 trillion in debt plus massive annual spending that is in excess of tax revenues without programs whom people have sympathy for going by the wayside. I told you we’d start seeing these stories and we will see many more, all while conveniently ignoring the 36 ton (& growing) elephant in the room. This story is the tip of the iceberg of stories that will be used relentlessly to undermine the goals of reducing government waste, fraud, etc..despite the exact same language and goals being articulated by the Clintons, Obama, Biden, et al when they were in office. DOGE is merely a department created under Obama with congressional approval renamed for this purpose by the current administration but since the Dems aren’t in charge, there’s weeping & gnashing of teeth.

DEI specifically focuses on race so when it gets cancelled, programs that benefitted from DEI go as well, not because people are racists but because the program is designed to target this very audience. There are a lot of people in this country who believe merit should be the focus when it comes to jobs and in the case of promoting programs like the 60 Minutes example, the focus shouldn’t be on checking boxes of skin pigment, etc but on class (i.e. those who don’t have the same opportunities due to poverty and economic disadvantages). Focusing on poverty and economic disadvantage across our country will naturally target those in need and result in all people benefitting without exacerbating racial divide. The issues DEI seeks to address don’t merely effect black people and hispanics & why the focus should be on class. Coleman Hughes explains this better than I can, you can see his take when he was on the view ( I like his train of thought but obviously not everyone does):

At the end of the day, one event was cancelled, the private sector stepped in and the world didn’t end. Huge problems like the national debt and government spending call for drastic action and difficult to make cuts. If we continue to ignore this massive problem because heart strings are easily pulled to distract from the primary issue, we will soon rue the day we did have the discipline and temerity to do what needs to be done while we still could.

DCU, please tell me where I'm wrong

I suspect this will still be on the website somewhere just no longer in a DEI category, at least it should be but in the grand scheme of things its much ado about nothing to drive up angst against the administration and undermine them
