You have got to be kidding me. Yes, there was a point in the season when Dallas had a shot at the top pick Stop being a fucking idiot!
Well no shit Einstein, EVERY team in the league has a "chance" to have the #1 pick.

At the midpoint of the season, I am using the traditional game 8. The Cowboys went 3-4 (they had a bye week). After week 9 they were 3-5 (loss to Atlanta).

At that point, there was a mathematical shot at the first pick in the draft had Dallas continued to lose. They would have ended up 3-14, which would have given them the top pick. There were also other points in which it was mathematically possible. Then, as the season progressed, it became mathematically impossible.

At the week 8 point the Panthers were 1-7. The Pats were 2-6. At week 9 the Pats were 2-7 and the Panthers were also 2-7, this would be when Dallas was 3-5.

Dallas was not far behind at 3-5. Dallas didn't play the Panthers until Week 15.

So obviously there was a shot.

Hoping we don’t draft a bunch of guys that are eager to tank EVER even if they someday become superstars.
Yep, if the players don't want or care to win, don't want anything to do with them.

If the coaches dont want ot care to win, dont want anything to do with them.

I know we have an owner and dipshit son who don't care if they win, but unfortunately we are stuck with that until they are both rotting in the ground.

Cowboys already slammed door shut on one potential Cooper Rush replacement

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys can’t get out of their own way, no matter how hard they try. They entered the offseason immediately cutting ties with former first-round pick Trey Lance, knowing that Cooper Rush probably wouldn’t be back in 2025.

Dallas went from two backups to zero in the blink of an eye. Maybe shutting the door on Lance returning so soon wasn’t the smartest move, especially when everyone figured Rush would not be returning. The Cowboys would never admit that just like they won't admit trading for Lance was a mistake in the first place.
I’m glad too it signals we may be drafting a QB
Which isn't good either being it's weak class.

Have no idea who this turd Partee is but 1) they didnt make a mistake trading a day three pick for a QB who had enough talent to be drafted top-5 just a couple yrs earlier and 2) they made no effort to bring either guy back...all that says is they acknowledge the successor to Prescott isnt and wasnt on the roster, so they will try another QB or two

So Cooks is officially gone. Like Tavon Austin, he was never the deep threat we envisioned him to be.

TRADE HIM!
I actually think they might be contemplating it and if so, it'd be one of the few things they've ever gotten right.

Again I wouldnt trade him just to be rid of him, but if they can get a real windfall of draft picks then it has to be at least be considered.

Yeah nobody's advocating just dumping him for nothing. But we've discussed I'd be flexible. Just want to keep my 1 and get yours. You get Parsons and get to give him the big bag.

If so it makes me wonder if Jimmy's having a say. Jerruh DID say Jimmy's back in an advisory role. If true we kind of have to rethink our opinions of decisions in Dallas.

If it's going to be just a single 1st rd pick then that pick has to be someone in the top-5 for sure IMO.

I think they might be trying to wait out the Trey Hendrickson Bengals deal. If they end up re-signing him then Parsons becomes the only elite level defender left that anyone could acquire, which might make some team/s more desperate.

One of our issues is the teams that would want him the most are the ones "close" to being over the top, and those teams draft towards the end of the 1st rd and don't have multiple 1sts in this draft. I can't imagine any scenario where we trade him to teams like Washington, Philly, Detroit or Green Bay. Buffalo would probably cream their shorts to get Parsons but they draft 30th this year. Now they do have two 2nd rd picks (56 and 62) so if you could get their 1st this year and next year, plus those two 2nds maybe you consider that. But in essence that amounts to four 2nd rd picks. Not that great of a "windfall"

Now if a team like New England offered their 1st and 3rd this yr and 1st next yr, I'm getting highly interested.
