Wasted career................
Not singling you out because this is a take that's shared by many when it comes to Cowboy players under Jones for the last 25 years or so.

That said, players are not guaranteed success from a team standpoint when they come into the league. The Cowboys are hardly the only franchise that had good players that never won a ring or saw year over year success as a team. The Browns have never been to a Super Bowl. The Jets last appearance coincided with the first moon landing. The Dolphins havent been in a Super Bowl since 1984. The Titans/Oilers franchise has one appearance in their existence. The Chargers have one Super Bowl appearance. Lions have no Super Bowl appearances. Texans have none. Washington finally made a conference champ game appearance this yr but prior to that hadnt been in one of those or a Super Bowl since 1991. Carolina's has one Super Bowl appearance. Jacksonville none. Cardinals have one. The Vikings and Bills havent won any Super Bowls and niether has been in that game in forever. All these teams probably had a slew of really good to even great players, and didnt get a championship.

Jones absolutely sux and the way he has run the team is borderline criminal. But I don't feel sorry for players that "didnt get a ring", nor does a lack of a ring mean their career was completely wasted. They've been paid monstrous amounts of money over their career and many of them COULD have chosen to go elsewhere at some point. Some could have even had significant impact on the way Jones makes decisions and runs the team (like Romo) and did nothing but take the money with a smile on their face.

Martin was an awesome player who did everything the right way on and off the field. He'll be a first ballot HOF. Wished he could have won a championship here but it didn't happen. It doesn't mean his career was wasted.
