Jason Garrett has provided a consistent message to this team of what it must do to win games.
The way the Cowboys lost its regular season opener against the New York Jets shows that message has yet to sink in.
"I think we have to go out and win games for ourselves,'' receiver Miles Austin said. "It's not about showing people anything. We have to win for ourselves and for our teammates.
"It's the first game. You are not going to learn about your whole team in one game. Obviously we need to play better and we need to win games.''
