Not sure what exactly his value is, it could be a 1st rd pick or maybe a 1st and later pick if a team were really desperate for WR help.

in our dreams. oft-inured + bad reputation + expensive contract = stuck with him.

Yes but I would wait till the offseason unless a desperate team with playoff aspirations comes calling with an offer that even Jerry can't refuse.

If it led to a blue chip pass rusher or a Pro Bowl playmaker at safety/Db, I would. The team needs speed at WR for this offense more than brute force and strong possession skills. Talent on the defensive side of the ball, like John Lynch said, is very important right now.

This guys is already in the down side IMO at 28. Besides the fact that I dont trust him to stay healthy, he disapears far too often for my taste. I don think you would get a good offer for him because of his reputation, but if somebody offered a high number two pick, I couldnt move him fast enough.

I'd need a first round pick. Probably one in the first half of the 1st round. And if nobody would give me such a pick, I'd be happy to keep Dez.

Everyone saw what a great sideline coach he made today. That alone says you need to keep him!

But the actual answer to the question is, yes you float it and hope the fact that you floated it stays quiet. Nobody's going to give you anything for him anyway.

Didn't Brandon Marshall only net some team a 5th rounder?

Others too....

We're the only team giving up 1st for wide receivers (Roy, Galloway).

We wouldn't get anything for Dez. Not worth it.

Id rather hire a strong head coach who could keep him (and the team) in line. Then we'd see what he could do.

IIRC there were other reasons the Bears traded Marshall, off field stuff which drive his value way down. I'll check when I have time.

Tampa gave up two 1sts for Keyshawn Johnson

Even when Denver traded Marshall and he was basically an All pro, they only got a 2nd.

I'm just saying, teams don't give up 1sts for WRs anymore. Dez certainly wouldn't net one. Certainly not two.

We might get a 3 for him.

Seattle traded 3 picks for Percy Harvin, including a 1st rounder

The Walker trade from way back when taught me that everybody is trade bait for the right deal. Yes, I would trade Dez if we could get a good deal.

Forgot about that one.

Didn't they also turn around and trade him for just conditional picks?

Idk... considering Dez's maturity and injury history, no way we get a first.
