It's been a difficult season overall, but Jason Witten continues to be arguably the Cowboys' most consistent offensive player year in, year out.

Last week Witten hit 72 catches, tying Shannon Sharpe and Antonio Gates for the second-most career 70-catch seasons (5).

Witten (595) is also five shy of becoming just the fourth tight end in league history with 600 career catches. Assuming he can reach the milestone in the final three games, he'll become the fastest to 600.

Witten currently has played in 127 career games. Tony Gonzalez did it in 134 games.

Witten has quietly become one of the best tight ends in football.

I just wish he had more after the catch, he's mostly catch, drop, and roll.

Witten is by far the least of our problems on this team. BTW, ROY! Witten is our most consistant RECEIVER. Not you.

Wait until Phillips comes back next year, I'm telling you he's a big factor in our offense.

I don't love him anymore. He's way too slow and stiff. He can catch but that's about it.

I don't know about a big factor. But defintely contribute. Only so many balls to go around. Are you assuming that either Roy or Bennett is not going to be around or both maybe? And remember he is coming off an ACL tear.

I think more so Roy than Bennett.

I can see Witten, Bennett and Phillips all getting involved next year.

I see this posted alot, yet every yr in the stats for TE's Witten is at, or right at the top in yards after catch for his position.

Witten is an awful run after the catch player.

If he's near the top in those stats it can only be attributed to the offense getting him in space. Because the eyes don't lie. He moves like Stephen Hawking in a snow storm.

Yeah, he easily got past the mark. IIRC, he got to 600 on his TD reception.
