Who are the players on this team we can build around, be effective, and help us realistically contend in 2012-2013 and going forward?

Offense:

Tony Romo
Miles Austin
Dez Bryant
Felix Jones
Doug Free - Will be a solid RT at worst, with better coaching and line cohesiveness.

Defense:

DeMarcus Ware
Mike Jenkins - he's playing like shit lately, but I'm not giving up on him.
Sean Lee - He hasn't shown as much as I had hoped, but I still have high hopes for him.
Jay Ratliff - Not sure how much longer he'll be effective. Might start breaking down as well.

Special teams:

Danny McCray - He'll be special in this role.

Maybe spencer he is pretty good agaisnt the run on defense but

we could use another pass rusher on the other side of Ware and i dont think Spencer gives us that

I totally agree. I think you can throw Witten up in there. I know he's getting up there in age, but he can still contribute. If not... John Phillips if he returns to form. I totally agreer with you on Free.

Witten maybe. He came to us when he was 20, I believe. But by 2012 or so he'll be on the wrong side of 30. He's been a warrior and a workhorse. I'm hoping he won't start to break down.

We definitely need John Phillips to emerge. Notice I didn't mention Bennett. I'm tired of his schitck.

You know, I used to think that as well... but now, I'm not so sure. I had high hopes for Bennet, but how long do we fucking wait until he decides to get his head together? But even if Phillips does not emerge and is a career role player, there's nothing wrong with that. As far as I am concerned we cannot have enough role players like Phillips, who has the right temperment and attitude and will give it their all on every play. Hell! Ratliff started off like that. I'm sure there were people that felt Ratliff would be a career role player and didn't see him emerge as he has.

Victor Butler-is a keeper IMO

Special teams:

Matt McBriar P-this guys is still solid
Danny McCray - He'll be special in this role.
Barry church-He making plays on defense and Special teamns

anthony spencer is the least of our worries its funny when were not winning and now spencer is a target last year he played the same way good agaisnt the run and average against the pass

He's okay, but he's not playing up to his potential right now.

I like Spencer, but he needs to step up his game.

After giving up 500 yards of total offense last night, I don't have much confidence at all in this defense the rest of the year.

I don't know what it is, maybe it's Wade's scheme, I dunno.
