There was a poll on 247 sports that popped up on my Facebook feed that I thought you guys might like. It appears we are not alone in our hatred for good ole JJ. I was surprised that the numbers for JJ weren't much higher. But at least he came out on top

I suppose it is conceivable that there are even worse owners than Jerry. Jerry isn't a tightwad, at least. I do think he wants to win (although only on his own terms).

Of course he's not a good owner or GM; him being both has truly screwed up the franchise.

It has to be Jerry.
I'm surprised Jerry's corporate logo isn't a picture of Sideshow Bob.
But any one of those other names is worthy of consideration.
I'm curious what names are in that "other" category of 8%.

His arrogance and refusal to bring in a qualified GM is what not only makes him the worst owner in sports, but possibly the worst human being on Earth.

Now that Bin Laden is dead, there may not be a person alive I despise more. Dbair is up there.

I think the Browns owner and situation is far worse, but Jerry the owner ruins his own image by keeping Jerry the GM running the thing all these years.

Like I said in another thread weeks ago, Jones could be the most revered owner in all of sports (by fans, media and probably other owners) if he had simply just stuck to "owning" the team and worked things out to keep Jimmy, or at the least have hired a GM after it was apparent to everyone that he was awful at making football decisions. Instead, he continued to force the square peg into the round hole for two decades.

From a profit angle he's good, but I have to rate him worst football owner because he knows damn well he's the problem. He's even admitted in the past though he also then claimed the fact that he doesn't have to worry about being fired as GM gave the Cowboys a "unique advantage" which is of course is bullshit of the highest order. The fact that he lets his ego get in the way of what is truly best for business, and is aware of this fact, is what makes him the worst owner.

Whaaaaa?
"There are many options," Jones said. "There's free agency. The question you [asked], and I'm taking it literally, is, Do you have to? Have to do what? Do we have to [draft a quarterback] to compete for a Super Bowl next year? Do we have to to compete for a Super Bowl in the future? Do you have to have it in place after you have this draft? There's no 'have to' here, in my mind, because we have the luxury of having [Tony] Romo for a minimum three, four, five years here. So we're going to play football and hopefully play it well with a healthy Romo."

Yep.

I sincerely hope he's throwing up a smoke screen to make ppl think we aren't going to draft a QB for the future

And even more so I pray he's not being honest like he was last year when he said we wouldn't draft a RB

My hope here is that Romo does have surgery to repair and strengthen his collarbone. And that he takes longer to heal than expected which puts the fear of God into Jerry so he has no choice but to draft a QB

but all this will hinge on if he picks up Johnny footballs which I believe he will, and in doing so he will call the QB position all well and good and he still won't draft one.

I have a strong feeling that we as fans are going to be extremely pissed off on day two of the draft and again heading into training camp with our QB situation being no better than it is right now

I mean, that surgery as I understand it, is nuts. It's not on the collarbone, it is surgery on the shoulder blade itself, putting in a metal plate and screws. Ostensibly, to help brace that collarbone. They're going to cut his back open where the shoulder blade is, clamp it wide open like gutting a fish, and put that metal plate in. Gonna take months to heal, then there's rehab.

But the REAL problem is, he said before he tries to land that way in order to save his BACK, which he also admitted he tweaked again in game 1 of last season.

The back ain't right. Bracing up the shoulder is putting lipstick on a pig.

He's a fucking time bomb. Time Bomb Tony. He'll be lucky to come out of his NFL career able to fucking walk.

Don't worry guys..if Romo gets hurt again, we will just lose. Won't be Garrett's fault, won't be Jerry's fault.

We will be debating whether we should draft Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, or Chad Kelly this time next year.

sounds like you hate jerri as much as I do, this will piss you off, ever heard this:

Did you know jerri actually negotiated with Bill Parcells before he hired him over how recognition would be allocated should they win a Super Bowl? Can you imagine hiring someone to do a job and telling them if they're successful, that you'll be taking credit for it? Its absurdly insecure and shallow, one of the many reasons I hate the man with a passion.

Here's the excerpt from the Book Parcells: A Football Life:

No big deal. Every owner works out a percentage of who gets all the credit for any success before they sign a coach. We're just like every other NFL team.

Seattle's owner failed to negotiate it and now Pete Carroll gets all the credit for Seattle's success. Jerry Richardson actually gets 105% of the credit if Carolina wins while Ron Rivera has to sweep up the locker room. Normal every day stuff.

Maybe the credit thing is why Garret still has a job after the worst season since Jimmy's rebuilding year.

Since all the credit goes to JJ if we win and very little goes to the coach then it's the same when we fail. So JJ takes the blame for last seasons failures instead of Garret. And JJ can't be fired as GM so there's no fall guy who can be fired for last seasons debacle

Now of course JJ would never publicly take all the blame for last season

either way it's a shit sammich any way you look at it

LOL

^ That is all I can do in reaction to that at this point. I had not seen that before. Somehow this is both unbelievable, and yet believable. Jerry has become a zen koan. If you can figure it out you will receive total enlightenment on your death bed.

There's that "unique advantage" thing again.
