Who I'm Watching

I know that we're really hurting on the offensive line but I think the possible loss of Jay Ratliff and Josh Brent going to jail are even greater. I've done about 4 mocks on Bleacher Report but these are the top players i'm really watching:

1. John Jenkins, NT, Georgia
2. Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
3. Margus Hunt, DE, SMU (2nd round but moving up quickly)
4. Matt Elam, S, Florida (I don't know that they grab a safety)
5. Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
6. Barrett Jones, OL, Bama
7. Jesse Williams, DT, Bama
8. Brandon Williams, DT, Miss Southern (4th round mega-sleeper)
9. William Gholston, DE/DT, Mich St (Late second)
10. Dallas Thomas, OT, Tenn
11. Omeregie Uzzi, OG, Georgia Tech (4th round prospect)

I think given the Cowboys ridiculously low budget and the need in the trenches the Cowboys keep with the OL/DL in the first four rounds.

What are you guys thinking?

Welcome sir. I think the consensus is we must address OL and DL. If you're numbers yesterday ($22M over the cap) are correct we will be bystanders in free agency, so the draft will be Jerry's big chance to make some noise and we all know OL, NT, and 3-4 DE doesn't create a lot of buzz. This is a scary off-season for me, don't know what to expect.

As far as your list, I just can't get behind John Jenkins. I loved the Georgia D and I wanted to see him dominate Centers more. A lot of Warmack fans here. No love for Johnathan Cooper?

Have Cooper and Warmack close in rankings. Don't see either available at 18. Stock is rising too fast and too many teams need linemen.

No Alvin Bailey (OG) Arkansas? Maybe available in the 3rd or 4th.

Cooper and Warmack would both be available at 18. Worst case scenario is one of them goes at say 15 or 16. But I think we'll have our chance at either.

I like Jenkins, and love the idea of having a motivated wide body in the middle. But the team doesnt seem to have much regard for oversized NT's so I doubt we actually go that way.
