Stephen Jones, the Cowboys executive vice president, declared that Miles Austin was "not a one-year wonder'' when the club signed him to a six-year, $54 million extension earlier this season.
He may not be. But the jury is still out.
The Cowboys lead receiver has suffered through a frustrating evening. He fell on the out route that led to the Cardinals first pick six. He dropped three passes, including one in the end zone.
"I can mess up really bad,'' Austin said. "I get down on myself. I do sometimes. Really hard."
"But you have to shake it off.''
Austin did shake it off for a 37-yard touchdown in the final two minutes. He finished with 6 catches for 115 yards. But what about all of those mistakes?
"I didn't make all the plays I wanted,'' Austin said. "But we have a long year.
"We've got one game left.''
