I've been wanting to flush our RB situation as far back as a year ago. I know the offensive line is horrific but I still believe we could do better at the position.

Now I don't know if the Cowboys agree and that's why they took Murray with the 71st pick or if they're just dumb enough to use a pick that high on a 3rd RB and special teams player. I can't put anything past them. I'd like to think it's a true changing of the guard.

Release Barber the second you can. Peddle Tashard Choice to a RB needy team like Miami. Yeah, they just took a back in the draft, but both of their current RBs are at the end of the road. They need two. Choice should have some value on the market.

I think Choice could be an effective starter in the right situation. But for some reason the coaches here just don't like the guy. If that's the case, there's no reason to carry him on the roster another year. I barely believe in a two back attack, much less three. I don't doubt Choice can be productive. But if it can't happen here, I don't see the point of keeping him. Get what you can get for him. And, yes, I do believe you can get something.

A 3rd or 4th round pick is a realistic get to me. All you need is a couple of interested teams and you have some leverage.

Throw the starting position legitimately up for grabs between Felix and Murray. Let performance dictate who gets what share of carries. Ride whoever the hot hand is. Tenure means nothing. Use the 3rd RB spot for a young development player like you would at QB. The guy never sees the field on offense unless he's forced to.

I'm really hoping this is going to happen.

Why is a 3rd or 4th round pick realistic compensation for Choice? He was a 4th round pick and outside of 3 or 4 games, he's largely unproven. The upside isn't there.

I'll say this, If Murray is starting quality behind a decent line, this is the best draft we've had in years if the two picks in front of him do what I think they will.

Yeah, I think we can all agree that Barber is history as soon as they can release.

So the question then becomes what will they do with Choice? I would place the odds of him being on the roster by the start of the season (whenever that is) at 50/50.

I do think the Cowboys will do whatever they can to get Murray ready to be the 3rd down back.

Dislodging Felix as the #1 back? Tough question to answer. Say, Murray did become the starter? Does that mean Felix becomes a 3rd down back? They may not be a good thing. If Choice is still here he could be the 3rd down back and then is Felix released or traded? Nah, I wouldn't buy that one.

I think the club likes Felix Jones. I think Felix is the more gifted runner.

Felix is the #1, Murray #2, and possibly Choice the #3.

To me it's more important for the line to show improvement... No matter who the back is, their numbers will improve.

Barber and Choice are both goners, I'm convinced of it.

Jones and Murray will probably get all, or almost all the reps, with either Lonyae Miller, some other rookie free agent or maybe a cheap vet as the 3rd back.

I would go with Murray and Jones. If Choice doesn't accept his role, then trade him.

Barber, no comment.

The only way Choice nets us a pick as high as a 4th, is if we showcase him in the pre-season and he lights it up, and a team suffers an injury to their starter.

Otherwise, we're looking at a 6th rounder at best.
