I expect there to be a salary cap. I think its at the point where if there is no structure, there will be no season. Neither side can afford to lose the season.

So with that said, i think the first thing Dallas will have to do is create some cap room to Do the things they want. Barber, Colombo, and I think the suprise Newman will be cut. I believe the Cowboys will offer to keep Newman at a reduced cap hit. But in the end he wont want to and he will be traded or released. The wildcard here i think is Roy Williams. If somebody can emerge and Dez can have his head on right Roy could be gone aswell.

Now you ask who would replace these people. Barber and Colombos replacements are already on the team. And the hardest one to replace would be Newmans. I dont see Scandrick and Jenkins starting side by side so yes Dallas will need to go into FA for a CB. Asomugha would be the logical choice but not at his price. I could see Dallas signing a player like Carlos Rogers or Richard Marshall. Two good CBs but wont be too pricey.

Safety posistion will be tricky. Im starting to think Dallas will probably have one of the S spots filled in from within. And my thinking is Akwasi Owusu-Andah would be given every chance to start. The Cowboys were very high on him when they drafted him but his injury hurt him. Then theres strong safety. IM not a fan of Sensabaugh but I think he could be back and Cowboys will want that for the right price. If not this could be a big problem if it lingers. IMO id love to see Dallas pick up Deunta Williams.

DE Dallas has 1 with a contract and thats Igor. Its clear Wade didnt know how to use his skills with an attacking scheme. I can see Igor bouncing back. If Dallas plans to keep Bowen then i expect to see Rat playing more DE. But id love to see a Vet like Shaun Ellis brought in Mentor a guy like Bowen.

Nose tackle IMO is one of the few spots i dont expect any movement. Dallas loves Rat there and IMO they have a very capable guy to move inside in Josh Brent. Guy looked very good when he played. He's only going to get better.

Guard might be tricky. Its clear Dallas woud take Kosier back in a split second if he came with a discount. But if a team offers more he could walk. Dallas got young with drafting Tyron Smith so IMO a Vet would work fine. And i think Holland might be the guy Dallas could plug in for now. Holland played very well last yr. He a bit injury prone but this is where Woicik would help.

IMO Dallas will probably go after a big name and settle for cheaper options that will fill spots until younger guys are ready to take over.

TOP name FAs i could see Dallas goin after

Nnamdi Asomugha
Cullen Jenkins
Dwan Landry
Davin Joseph

Of Course Dallas will still have to sign Doug Free and he's not going to come cheap.

Dallas won't be in the market for a corner. They have their corners. Newman's not going anywhere.

They will have to rework things to create cap space on this 6 win team thanks to the outstanding work of our cap man/pretend personnel director and future fake GM Stephen Jones.

We'll have tunnel vision on a couple of safeties. One probably being Sensabaugh. We'll resign Free to an awful contract he's not nearly talented enough to ever live up to. Kosier will be back. The only change on that shat line will be at RT. And we have to get two DEs back. Bowen is probably a definite.

The problem with this free agency is there won't be time for a cooling off period. Where you can sit tight and wait for a bargain. You're gonna have to get what you can get because the season's starting in a few weeks. I think that'll lead to a lot of bad contracts throughout the league.

I'll make a prediction right now. If there's an UDFA period, the Cowboys will add an offensive lineman that will stick on this team for a number of years. There's a lot of talent still there and we have to be targeting a couple.
