Not a bum among them. No reaches. All three of these guys were stars for their college teams.

The only thing that could make this threesome a failure is injury.

I hate not addressing OL again, but we have 5 more picks and still some solid prospects available. We very well may have a couple of OL targeted in the 4th/5th round and just couldn't pass up the best pass catching/blocking back in the draft. I can't argue with that. As a Sooners fan, I know Murray's quality. He's just injury prone. But if he wasn't injury prone, he wouldn't have been there in the 3rd round.

If we fail to address OL again it's not because of selecting DeMarco Murray at 71. There are other opportunities to do it.

I'd grade our first day (F you, Goodell) a B+.

That's fair, B+.

Look for Lee Ziemba or Demarcus Love tomorrow. Maybe Boling.

Also in the 6th 0r 7th rounds look at Darius Morris, G/OT, Temple .

B-
1st round safe/solid. Potential to be a decade long starter.
2nd round injury risk and not an immediate need. Potential to be a 1st round caliber player
3rd round injury prone and not a need. RB's could be had later.

Tyron Smith. Very high ceiling player at a position of need.
Bruce Carter. Same as above.
DeMarco Murray. Best pick of the draft.

You know better than to grade a draft on need.

But I would disagree that ILB isn't an immediate need. I think it is. We need to immediately find a future starter to pair with Lee. Brooking has one year left, James isn't far behind. We can't wait until we're in crisis mode.

Bruce Carter should be good to go come training camp if and when there is one. He is already running and cutting after surgery in December. Carter was a beast when healthy.

Work for an ortho practice and we release our athletes to full contact at or around 6 months post-op(ACL) barring any set backs. They may initially start him out slow but he should be full speed by the end of camp. Of course with millions invested I'm sure they err on the side of caution.

Murray I like but not really in the 3rd with Moffitt, Rackley, and Boling sitting there. Overall a B-. Solid A for me if they would have taken one of those 3 guards.

You didn't say that.

BTW, no safety is worth earlier than a 4th round pick. Rahim Moore is garbage.

We shall see. Of course I'll have to find whatever new message board you are exiled to by then, but we will see.

After thinking about it, I'm warming up to the 3rd rounder. He is talented. He could be a heck of a 3rd down pick, I don't see him as a better runner than Felix. He could also be an effective slot guy. He did seem to be higher rated than any guard left on the board.

I like the 2nd rounder. He could be a heck of a nickel linebacker with his coverage skills... Which is something this team hasn't had in a while.
