Whew... good thing we got that 2nd round Guard, Watford, to step into the line up.

What? We took a TE that I'm not even sure is active on gamedays? Oh. Nevermind.

IRVING – Still reeling from the disheartening 31-30 loss at Detroit, the Dallas Cowboys absorbed another body blow Monday when owner Jerry Jones all but declared right guard Brian Waters out for the year.

Waters, 36, hurt his knee and ribs in the meltdown in the Motor City, but it was a triceps injury that will shelve him, Jones said on his weekly radio show on Dallas’ KRLD-FM.

The Cowboys will replace Waters with Mackenzy Bernadeau, who started last season. Jones said the club will turn to its practice squad for depth, which likely means David Arkin will be promoted to the 53-man roster.

The Cowboys released Arkin on Saturday only to re-sign him to the practice squad Monday.

“(Bernadeau) started for us the entire year last year and played well,” Jones said. “(He) came in and played about 20 snaps (against Detroit) and played well.”

The Cowboys signed Waters just before the start of the season to a one-year deal laden with incentives. He sat out last season for personal reasons.

Waters started the last five games.

Is it really that surprising, though, for someone 36 years old who skips training camp...

Not at all.

It's sad that we can't draft lineman worth a fuck, we take tight ends in the 2nd round, and we're stuck with signing guys like him. He costed himself a lot of money skipping training camp. Now all we owe him is an injury settelment.

The line looked completely different when Waters wasn't in there on Sunday. Now Frederick and Free are going to have to do more. If you list the guys we couldn't afford to lose to injury, he would probably be in the top 3.

Waters supposedly wants to try to play through it but the team is saying no.

This just goes to show how unlucky we are.

I mean, normally when you want to rely on a 36 year old fat guy who hasn't played football in over a year and wants to skip training camp to last an entire season, it works out for you.

But no, not Dallas when we try and do it.

Hmmph!

Hey, cut out all that courage stuff. This is America's Team.

Gives Jerry one more chance to show the world what a brilliant signing Mackenzy Bernadeau was.

This organization is just backwards. Run a 3-4? Okay, but we are going to go small. Invest heavy in man corners? Switch to the one scheme that least depends on man corners. The NFL has become pass heavy? Put two strong safeties in deep coverage. Just weird.

I didn't hear the interview, but I'm assuming it's a torn tricep, and that's a season ender for every lineman I've ever heard of. I'm not sure how you could even play with that. Tough to play OL if you can't extend your arm.

You're right, I forgot about that. He was out for six weeks or whatever though, right? Wonder if they'd try to carry Waters all that time. We already used our IR designated-to-return on Ratliff, didn't we?

I knew he was gone when I heard "triceps." it's football's version of pancreatic cancer.

A 2nd round TE that is 8th in yards on the team. 10th in receptions on the team --- our #4, #5, and #6 WRs each jave more catches and yards than him.

AND... he cannot block for SHIT!

Can't run a decent route either. In fact, other than looking like a gape-mouthed ******, I find it hard to see what the hell he's good for.
