Washington will not have strong safety LaRon Landry and could have a new kicker for Sunday's game at the Dallas Cowboys.

The Redskins on Monday put strong safety LaRon Landry on injured reserve because of a damaged left Achilles tendon. Landry had missed the last four games because of the injury. Ryan Doughty has replaced the more accomplished Landry.

The Redskins plan on trying out some kickers in the wake of Sunday's fiasco. Graham Gano missed field-goal tries of 24 and 34 yards in a 17-16 loss to Tampa Bay.

Washington had a chance to tie the game with nine seconds remaining, but a conversion kick went afoul because of a poor snap. According to Redskins' coach Mike Shanahan, Gano injured his ribs on the play.

``We've still got a lot of confidence in him (Gano) even though he had a rough day,'' Shanahan said during a media briefing. ``As I told him, I think it's more mental than anything else. I've watched him do it consistently in practice, even though he didn't obviously have a good game. I know he's very disappointed. We're disappointed.''

Gano has made only 22-of-32 kicks for the lowest success rate (68.8) among the 32 kickers with at least a dozen tries.
