DALLAS -- On Tuesday Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said new Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan can produce some exotic looks, especially on third down when he would have maybe one player with his hand on the ground.
DeMarcus Ware, working Radio Row on behalf of Gatorade on Thursday, seemed to confirm Ryan will bring that type of defense to the Cowboys.
“I know what type of defense he has,” said Ware, who lead the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2010. “He’s a pressure guy and will do a lot with the versatile guys that we have. I know it’s going to be good for us.”
Ware said he thinks the Cowboys will blitz more with Ryan than they did with Wade Phillips.
In Phillips’ scheme, “it depended on what the situation was,” Ware said. “I’m talking all the time, like a Philly. I think a lot more crazy looks and blitz like Wade but with a lot more crazy looks. Guys will have more responsibilities.”
