Marc Colombo will have to practice during the week in order to be able to play Sunday against Washington, according to coach Wade Phillips.

Colombo had arthroscopic surgery on Aug. 16 to remove loose bodies from his right knee and was expected to be able to return in time for the Redskins' game. He did not practice Monday, working on the side with associate athletic trainer Britt Brown on his rehab.

"We'll see on Wednesday," Phillips said. "If he can practice, he'll practice and if he can't, then I'll be less optimistic."

Alex Barron would replace Colombo in the starting lineup. He started 15 of 16 games at right tackle in St. Louis in 2008 and every game there in 2006.

Elsewhere in offensive line machinations, Andre Gurode would be the backup guard if something were to happen to the guards during the game if Kyle Kosier cannot play this week and undrafted rookie Phil Costa would take over at center.

I say we throw him in there even if he can't move his leg like we did in Minnesota.
